20 Termies vs 20 Genestealers .. does not seem fair to the poor stealers..

Is'nt the last release something like 10 Termies to 20 Stealers?

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

20 Terminators plus a Librarian and 20 Genestealers plus a broodlord? Either the game's changed massively or this is way off base.

I've still got my fingers crossed for a reprint of version one with plastic tiles.

Most of the missions required only five Terminators and there were ten in the box. If GW are smart they'll produce scenarios for multiple boxes and maybe alternate armies (Chaos Terminators vs. Orks or Harlequins vs. Daemons or something)

Nicely done sir,

It's perfectly possible that the Stealers get in game bonuses/rules, like surprise attacks and the like, tunnel pouncers, should be good whatever happens, considering termies are 20 quid for 5!

Could be that these are extra content for the limited release and that the regular release will be more normal.

Dont forget there were many more genestealers in play than there were models thanks to the blips. I can see 20 terminators and a librarian having to face constant blips of 5-15 genestealers in close combat in room after room. That would certainly make things a lot fairer. 20 does seem like a lot though - that is 1/5th of an entire company.

Remember that the Genestealers get to recycle. Twenty Terminators does seem like overkill, game-play-wise. The whole point was that five elements or so was about as much as a player could handle in 3 or 4 minutes a turn.

Speaking of the rules, I wonder if they keep the time limit and weapon jamming in.

The time limit really made the game. As for weapon-jamming, that was there to make retreating a live option, so that the Terminator player couldn't play trigger-happy and had to face a decision about whether to shoot or not.

Metal in a box isn't OTT if this really is a "limited run" style item. But yeah, 20 Termies? I don't think so.

It's not wierd for their 40K range.
It would be extremely unusual in a GW boardgame.

Warhammer Quest and Talisman had metal miniatures, but only for the character add-ons, not in the core game box.

Bommerz over the Sulfa River had metal planes, but was only a throw-together rather than a real boardgame release.

So far as I'm aware, every other boardgame GW has released has had all plastic miniatures. Metal would be extremely surprising. In particular since the boardgames are supposed to be easier for anyone (rather than modellers specifically) to just pick up and play, so miniatures are generally one piece or snap-fit. Isn't the Broodlord a multi-part model? That would make it a rather odd choice for anything other than a modeller-aimed limited release version of the game.

I call bs.

Metal in the box and no plastic corridors? What's the point?

With plastic corridors just about any person would buy one and you could sell them separately.

I agree with that. BUT, playing Devil's Advocate, throwing in a metal Broodlord, an existing mini still in production, doesn't seem impossible.
