Can anyone direct me to a miniature-scale (25-32mm scale) hand railing? All I've been able to find is some decorative Gothic stuff that looks far to pretty for what I'm using it for. Just basic railing, no fancy leaf-curve designs or whatever.

I've perused the web periodically over the last week and can't seem to find much of anything. I heard that Pegasus Hobbies makes some good railing, but couldn't find that either

I'm planning on using this on my Cities of Death board, so please, something passably futuristic would be best

Cheers,
-Josh

If you just want something simple, go to your local hardware store and buy some wire mesh in an appropriate size (half-inch squares do pretty well) and just cut to the size and shape that you want.

you actually can save yourself ALOT of money buy just making it yourself. go buy some small dowels and cut it to the right lengths and glue it together. you can carve the points were the railing will meet into 45 degree angles or sand circular divits into the end of the dowels so they'll fit together. then just use wood glue to fill the gaps were they don't fit perfectly. trust me, it's SUPER easy and it's like 30 cents a dowel at almost any craft store. you can even buy square dowels and not even bother with the angles if you want. super easy, super cheap.

Some of these bridges could be used.
I'd recommend the Airfix pontoon bridge.
It comes with about 40" of railings for £7.50

Looks great! Scale pics would be much appreciated. If it's the right scale it looks a good deal like what I had in mind.

Sorry for the delay....
Here's a few scale pics and a pic of the instructions.
As you may be able to see the railings come in one piece so construction is super easy.
The distance between the railings is 52mm so not quite big enough for dreads/carnifex etc
Let me know if you would like any other measurements, pics etc
Hope this helps....

Just had another thought.
Would the Aegis Defence Line be any good?
More like crenelated battlements than hand rails but still useable, perhaps?

Couldnt those railings be glued out at the edges to make it wide enough to fit dreads, etc. ratehr then in the stock spot?

Shouldn't be hard to dremel the bottoms flat and move them.

Yup, it could easily be done.
iirc there were four of five plugs and the same number of holes in the base just drill new holes and fill the old ones.
I think when I built mine I was only really expecting to play Necromunda so I never even considered a 60mm base.

Out of curiosity how do they mate up with those GW bulkeads? is the thickness of the bridge deck slim enough to fit into the horizontal slots at the top of the bulkheads or do you need to work them a bit to get them to mate securely?

Would you need to glue them in to feel comfortable putting models on them?

I have a ton of those bulkheads and might pick up some of these regardless to build some industrial/hive city type pieces and th price is right...

Sorry for the crap pics, light is going here, but yeah.
They fit pretty nicely, perhaps tiny bit too snug. No glue.

To be honest, I'm suprised this hasn't degenerated into a Litko Aerosystems thread.

I could also suggest some railed corridors from Litko Aerosystems but I get the feeling that would be a bad idea.

Here's a link to the bad idea: http://www.litkoaero.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GHP107&Category_Code=ITS

From the last shot, it looks like you are really forcing those bridges into the bulkheads - it seems to be bending the top of the bulkhead.

Is that the case, or is it just a trick of the camera?

Yeah, no camera tricks, it is forcing it a bit. But if one was to remove/file down the teeth in the slot a bit you could get a really nice modular fit.
