I unpacked my Dark Eldar for the first time in ~3 years, and did some repair work.

Opened up my order from Wayland Games before heading off to work, got the new SW Venerable Dread/Bjorn the ridiculously old and fell-handed, Standard SM dread kit and a Predator Tank, was meant ot have a box of SW Long Fangs but they've sent a box of Skyclaws by mistake, so will ring up about that in the morning. Currently at work feeling like I'd rather be at home supergluing my fingers to shiny new plastic crack Sadly I don't have the sort of job where I can hobby at my desk but can't complain too much as I do have the sort of job that pays me enough to afford plastic crack... got to be honest having looked at all the sprues I got for how much it all cost I did feel a bit short changed, first new GW stuff for a while for me. I got a Stormclaw box recently as well and that seemed much better value.

Currently mentally going through how complicated magnetising the dreadnoughts will be to keep weapon options. The SW Ven Dread kit is clever to pack so many options onto sprues but doesn't make it super easy to keep all options open. I'd have been happier if there were a few more weapon mount arms.

I've done a mini tutorial on making the Dread swappable here, of you have Magenta/tack to hand, it's a piece of cake!

Tried to teach my 8 year old lad a few painting phrases (like "wash") - he thought it meant wash all the messy paint off. :-P

He wanted to paint a Space Marine up, so I left him to it.
Ended up teaching him how to glue sand on and base it as well.

I did have to tidy up the eyes and glue on the tuft for him though.

Not bad for an 8 year old.

Spoiler:

He keeps telling me "Dad, I'm going to paint better than you 'cos I started at 8 and you told me you were a teenager when you started". :-)
I think he's better than me already. lol

As for me, I'm still ploughing through my Deadzone scenery as I wait (2 weeks now) on Mantic to send me the bases for the figures that were missing from the Deadzone boxset.
/sigh

My Painting Blog: http://gimgamgoo.com/
Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

That might look better than my space marines... simple, but effective. Clean too.

I was about to take a walk, but decided to take my broken compressor apart to see what the problem was... found it but I am unsure how to fix it. Might be a good idea to take that walk after all to think.

EDIT: Details in the workbench blog if anyone is interested.

Discovering I love having an airbrush, started work this morning at around 10:00, in front of me were 21 T-34 and 5 IS-2 on sprues (15mm, Plastic Solider Company models).

Took until about half two to assemble them and apply a touch of filler to the turrets, left until about five to let the glue harden.

Between five and now:
- All primed
- All base coated
- Dinner cooked & eaten
- Many cups of tea consumed
- Brush washed in tea at least twice... Well it was in a cup on the table..

Before bed will have the black wash added.

26 tanks from box to base colours in under a day, from bare plastic to painted base colours in under five hours...

By brush I'd have primed five, looked at the rest, sighed, painted another then either thought sod it and given up or slit my wrists to add a nice red colour...

Spent more time cleaning the airbrush than using it, seriously fast way of base coating a flat colour

Watching Dungeon Saga count down mostly. Based some Shasvastii Seed-Soldiers, and painted+dipped Ashley from Mars Attacks!.

Not sure if I'll get anything else done or not.

I put some paint to model tonight. I have 3 of my dreadball team to the retouching and finishing detail stage (can't figure out what color for the eyes on the corp team).

2 More models have 2 of the 3 colors done (white and yellow, minor accents sadly).

Which leaves 5 models just in primer, which I am going to start now. Gonna be running out of free time quick though!

Continuing to paint my not-Infinity stuff, I've got the PanO scheme sorted but I'm still struggling a little with the red for the Nomads. Pics possibly incoming later if I still can't fix it.

In other news, Icestorm is preordered, including the Ltd edition mini. Looks like all you Infinity types have got me hooked now.

Wow that's pretty good compared to how I was at 8yrs old lol. *Slop! Dosh* Blood Angels... I think? lol

On topic: I will most likely be doing some DZ Marauders stuff. I seem to be doing a fair bit of greenskins recently. I'll have a pretty decent sized KoW orc force next year too with Dungeon Saga coming out...

I'm working through 3 Infinity combined army models, need to take pictures of Ashley from Mars Attacks, and may build some more deadzone scenery.

The ruined quadrant is a bucketful of terrain, I got way more via the kickstarter but this box is still quite a lot in one go!

Here's another vote for your Pan-O scheme and otherwise Paradigm I'm gonna have to paint my icestorm sometime and I'm not well inspired yet.

OK, I'll try and snap some pics later or tomorrow. It's fairly similar to the base scheme, with a few alterations and not as good. I'm happy with them so far, though, given that I've never tried anything in that style before.
