Some sort of mini/computer hybrid game whose gameplay does nothing for me (requires an Ipod touch and internet access to play a tabletop game) but hey cool plastic figures!
More on their site or in this gallery
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-518-7012_Ex%20Illis.html
And a plastic board that is NOT covered in skulls.
Anyone seen them or tried them?

I found their webstore.
http://en.ex-illis.com/main.php?goto=store
Looks like the board is only in a $160 starter set with software and 50 miniatures.
But there is a $30 pack with the angel, the imps and 2 ogres. I can see that working for some terrain projects.

They called one day and offered to come by my shop to show me the game, and I set up a time for taking a look at it. Not sure what happened, but they didn't come by. Haven't worried about it since. I was skeptical about the need for internet access to play the game.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

The board's a nice idea, but the paintjob shown on the website doesn't really do anything for it... The texture on it really doesn't work as grass. It really just looks like your standard 'glue sand to a board and paint it green' gaming board, with random bits of detail scattered around it.
Some of the miniatures are nice, though.

On the Faq they say that the normal board size for Ex Illis is 3*4 feet, so I guess it is about that size.

As with everyone else I have heard of or spoken too, I'm skeptical about the hybrid gameplay. But that's just my taste. I don't like playing computer games of any stripe, so that's always going to be a bummer. And the "benefits" it can bring to wargaming, such as campaign army development and history and online league playing, are refinements that are of no interest to me whatsoever - I would rather handle them myself, or (in the case of league rankings) they don't figure in my hobby at all (if I was interested in trying to be better than other people at a given activity, and to prove it by statistics, I'd have taken up some sport or other, or at least some activity that was less socially embarassing than wargaming! Who, really, wants to be King of the Nerds? Really?)
The figs are OK, but seem, to me, somewhat pedestrian, and certainly don't look as enticing or interesting as other recent fantasy plastic offerings I have seen - such as Alkemy, or even Rackham.
As others have said though, the board *does* interest me. I'm up for a plastic, clip-together, modular board in 1" square tiles. Provided it is priced at a reasonable level, and not at the ludicrous GW level of course! If they sold them in batches of 12 for like £20 or so, I'd be there.

It's not available by itself. It's a part of the deluxe version of the starter set.

I reckon they'd make more profit off selling the plastic board kits to wargamers in general than they'll make selling it as part as the start-up package for what's looking like a less-than-universally-popular game. Still, what do I know?

I agree, but presumably them selling the board separately would be a tacit admission of defeat, that they don't anticipate any success with their new venture and that is a big no-no for a new game.
