Im thinking about mixing necrons with space marines to make some iron hands like marines.
main issue:do the necron heads fit the sm bodys?
would be cool if someone could provide a pic or a link with marines with necron heads.
^_^

No, the heads don't fit. Marines have the neck joint ball attached to the helmet. Necrons have the hole for the ball joint in their head. Not only is it reversed, but the joint sizes and heads are very different sizes. It would take a lot of greenstuffing to do and make it look right.

Yeah...
You're probably going to get some sideways glances for that, friend. Arms and legs and torsos are fine for switching around with Necron Bits, but heads are a bit harder to explain. Do whatever you want, I just felt it necessary to bring that up.
And I really don't think the heads would fit well.

Umm I like the idea of mixing necrons with SM, but no on the heads. Why would they have necron heads? It would just look weird. You know, for cheaper than a box of necrons and a box of marines, you can just buy a box of iron hands space marines...
edit- Now that I think about it- you could do up some crazy stuff with your scratch build idea. But don't rule out the iron hands box!

It wouldn't be That hard to put a Necron head on a Space Marine body, assuming you don't need the Necron's body for something else. Just cut out the Necron's neck and spine from it's body, and put that in the head slot on the Marine torso so you have a suitable place to attach the Necron head.
The problem I Do see with this idea, is that Necrons have a much more stylized and unique appearance than the more true to form designs that the Imperium uses. The result wouldn't really look like Iron Hands, just Necron Marines. I think you would be better off using "real" skulls, putting little bitz of cybernetics and wires on them, and painting them as metallic.
