K here is my "storm raven" ^^; though it was doomed to fail before it started as its really tiny.
It carries all the storm raven weaponry TL Lascannon , TL Typhoon Missile , Bloodstrike Missile.
but way too small to look persuasive to be able to transport anything.

Its made from bunch of parts from broken toys + spare valkyrie wing and this APC



For anyone that plays Supreme Commander 2 , i believe you'll recognize this Gunship :3
and yes! the tail can actually swivel in 2 parts lol

I like the stryker-looking APC. I would have put the weapons in the middle though, with a top hatch on the rear deck.

The spectre gunship could easily be converted to a storm raven by adding a cargo pod underneath with a drop ramp.

Ahh you mean have the lascannon turret be towards the back more?

Lascannon turret is fine. My first sentence was referring to the wheeled APC only. Was just thinking the Spectre would look more like a SR with, like the middle of a land raider glued underneath. If you get my meaning.

Ahhhh one thing that always puzzles me on transports that flies.
If their belly ( the transport ) are loaded for example:
How do they land? It looks like the landing gear in the picture wouldnt be touching the floor if there is cargo box underneath it?

Its a VTOL craft... It hovers, puts the load down and hovers off somewhere else to land

Same with cargo helicopters.

That totally only looks a bit like a horseshoe crab... works for me though! (Going out for a marine bio major and I just love the little critters.)

That is exactly what a helicopter does. It needs its load to be attached while hovering, as well as detached before it can land.

As far as I know, the Storm Raven is the same way. This means that a lot of designs that people based off the thunderhawk wouldn't work, since the thunderhawk is not a VTOL IIRC.

GW was kind enough to not give us any pictures of it yet, for some mysterious reason.

You wheeled APC reminds me of the Colonial Marines APC from "Aliens". You know, I think a Storm Raven should look like the dropship from that movie.

That is a bit pricey. And it is in 1/72 scale, which makes it unusable. Needs to 1/48 to 1/35 scale.

With the whip tail, your Storm Raven almost looks like something I'd expect in a Necron army.

Should i just remove the tail?

No the tail looks good I think it is a great model.

I honestly dont see any fail parts as all, but that raven is actually looks good.

I think the manta look is pretty cool. It's a solid conversion. The tail is really long, which might be a pain gamewise but it looks good.

That LC turrent on top is rather large though.
