where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

I dunno, they seen more like heavily augmented guardsmen than Mechanicus atm, however the paint may help with that...

Well remember that these are just Skittari. The legions of the adeptus mechanicus are primarily humans with mild enhancements to make them better soldiers. There will be some combat servitors and things to represent fiends and hounds. I'm also considering a walker kit bash that could be used as my Daemon Princes w/a shoulder mounted lascannon.

I'd say go all out bizzare techno-organic status!

I'm not actually a fan of the bizzare techno-organic style. My favorite depiction of the AdMech armies has always been the idea of scaling enhancement. Higher your rank the more parts you have that aren't human. To be honest it might come down to the paint job to make it stand out as Admech.

hmm prehaps; being a fan of Quake II I always assumed Admech would be a more human version of strogg

So second questions. So far based on the conversions would anyone have a problem with playing against them as counts-as?

So the first squad is finished being painted and I'm really happy with how they turned out. The floating lascannon is the model armed with a Bolt of Change. I'm waiting to do all the custom bases until the whole army is assembled and painted since I want them to match so ignore my awesome black bases. So here we go!

And a closer view

Also started building my "Fiends" which are line breaker, close combat augmented Ogryns based on the Ogre Kingdom bulls

So let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Looks good. I never had a problem with counts as if your making a whole army from scratch and your using GW stuff. I dont like it when people just use stuff from other companies like AT 43 and call it their counts as army. looks like you are using bitz that will be recognizable as the actual bitz that they are supposed to represent.

p.s i like the color scheme too. are you going to use lots of guitar wire for cables etc to festoon your men with.

I'm working on picking some up. It's going to be pretty essential to my non-horror models like the WIP Fiend above, my bloodletters (need combat drug dispensers!), and for my Flesh Hounds (also needing combat drugs). But I figured for the horrors and "bolt of change" it wasn't as essential since they are "lightly" upgrade.

Being a conversion expert and speaking from my experience from my own counts as mechanicus army: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/228258.page

The most important rule is; "that the model looks like it could have the same stat line and ablites of the unit it represents"
Your ogryn miniature thou cool doesn't look like it could have the same speed as a fiend I'd say add more armour and use it as a bloodcrusher.

That's a rule I very much agree with Proiteus. I'm going to later be making beefier versions of the Ogres with more armor that will count as Bloodcrushers. Kinda like a praetorian guard mechy style.

But with the Ogre I was thinking of a model that was the samish size and with combat drug style boosts (which is harder to see the back pack and the attachments on his back into him) I figured he might just run faster than your average big guy ala DE Wyches. I'm also planning on adding a servo arm to the "fiend" for the extra attacks.

Great feedback Proiteus. And your work is amazing.

I really like this army, the paintjob is damn fine and the idea for the models is really cool as well!

I'm also all for your idea of 'the higher you get, the more mech you get' as I think this represents mechanicus armies very, very well ^^

OP - Get some arco-flaggelants for fiends. I think you can get a combat-drug dispenser as part of Fabius Bile's backpack, but I don't know if GW still does individual component ordering.

If you're using the Daemon rules for these guys, maybe you should add some forgeworld gravchutes or other techno-gizmos to WYSIWG their deepstriking? Otherwise it seems a little odd them appearing out of thin air.

I have, since about 2nd ed, loved the idea of someone making a heavily armoured, exo-suited ogryn, perhaps as some kind of dreadnought or sentinel variant. Maybe this is the moment?

Good luck dude.

Proiteus - had a quick look at your blog, very nice!

Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop

So I've built my Daemon Princes. They designed to be a kinda mech/walker hybrid. The pilot can be unplugged basically and given standard legs. I really like how they turned out. Note the Heavy Flamer (counts-as Breath of Chaos) and the Servo-mounted Lascannon (counts-as Bolt of Tzeentch). As always feedback is looked for.

And for my screamers I really wanted something that had that unmanned throw away feel since to me screamers are literally throw away units that I plan to use very aggressively and don't expect to live out the game. I've decided on the drone body to represent the speed and I like the sentinel chainsaw arm since it can easily count-as a eviscerator (melta bomb). Also the lack of extra arms or appendages makes it easy to see why it only has a single attack. Here ya go:

Again thanks in advance for the feedback.

@Mindfield

They are Tau burst cannons from the crisis suit sprue. I thought them very fitting for a 3 shot weapon on my horrors. Plus they look cool

@Scar

I don't know what you mean?

@Everyone else

Thanks guys. Glad you like the latest additions. I'm working on my mock up for my hounds and new bloodletters since I've decided the model with the chainsword in the beginning will now be a daemonette.

im liking the guys with burst cannons a ton! really welldone, same with really all of the models. what i dont like are the flamers, looks too much like tau with IG upper body thrown together. i just don't think it looks admech enough. but the burstcannons are kickass!

Where did you go Hulksmash? I'm dying for more updates!

I'm still up in the air on the flamers, I can see what you mean Sageheart about the look of it. Maybe if the lines/markings/grooves in the top were changed so they look less Tau-like.

Still around. Been painting some stuff for other people. But i've got a little more done. I'm headed to vegas for till friday so no updates till the weekend.

And as for the flamers I think they'll look better once they are painted. The "horrors" certainly did. So did the Ogres which I'll post pictures of either tomorrow morning or on friday/saturday. I really like the flamers as it really shows what the unit is easily. Jump infantry is drone mounted Plus I'm a huge fan of the giant flamer for an arm
