Hey dude! yep, those pics were one coat from the can, the bolters on the sprue had a light Badab black wash so you can see the difference, it is really smooth too, I've never had a problem with them so far (touch wood) and the washes work nicely on the primers too!

I know i talk them up a lot but I think the Army Painter primers are the best thing i've come across to improve and speed up my painting skills, it just takes so many hours out of building and base coating normally but in a couple of hours you can have a whole squad assembled and base coated ready for washing and detailing, i can churn out a 10 man squad of marines in a day sitting now :-)

So I got a can of army painter Plate metal yesterday and I sprayed a test model:



So far i like it. It ended up pooling in the eyes. but besides that, its Great no spackle or sparkle
now i have to darken and highlight it.

Woo hoo, looking good Styro! glad you like it, the pooling will subside once it dries totally I've found if i've been over zealous when spraying :-) I'm guessing this will speed up your painting and hence that means it will mean more blog updates?

I just bought the codex, now I have to read it and make a draigo wing list with what I have!?

I usually shade down with washes and then highlight the edges, I am actually starting an Iron Knights force so I'll be using the same primer and methods to try and get that aged metal look :-) i'll keep you posted as i go!

lol, No I don't have ten already :-) I have one large one and I've 'dabbled' in a few others but they just didn't gel with me so I on sold them or intergrated them into my current force, the Iron Knights will start off as a small cities of death force using mainly second hand models etc. :-)

Sounds like it might work, you can only try right i'm going to try some different washes over it to see which looks best imo, I have Badab black, Nuln oil, soft body wash and heavy body wash, so i'll post pics for you when i get onto them and likewise I'll be keen to see how that method turns out!

Man, I would combat squad them when appropriate. The thing about Draigowing is that you either run the risk of losing 10 wounds a turn to heavy fire or you are able to close the field. What list do you have in mind? 2000 points?

From What i see they are pretty expensive army. I think I have Way more the 2000 points and Im not sure if they are effective with less points.

I have 2 Rifleman dreads, 2 Dreadknights, Libby and Draigo

As for the paladins, I need to equip them. For 5th ed. It was about wound allocation and i had an Idea on what to equip, But now I dont. Esp. since i haven't played or read 6th yet.

No there are no decals or transfers. Forgeworld has some brass ones inquistor stuff. What are you looking for exactly? Nerdfest can probably lead you in a good direction there. I am not sure though.

The little skulls and swords?!! GW wants me to hand paint them!!

You could try these for the swords, you can cut them out individually.

So over the weekend, I got some work done. first off I built 3 more Pallys. and this time I primed from the bottom black and from the top I primed Plate metal Primer. (in the long run this ended up being pointless)

I then gave them all a wash in Badab Black to darken the Plate metal (this too ended up being pointless). I then sprayed Vallejo Silver for the top at a 30 deg angle. Then I gave it a tint by spraying Guilliman Blue all over the model, and then I touched up the silver by spraying 15-20 deg from the top.

I found that I didn't like the contrast, not enough shadow. So I sprayed from below 30 deg. a mix of Chaos black and silver. Then another spray of chaos black 15 deg from the bottom.

It's a little better but not like my dread night parts.

I then took one of the pallies started giving it small pin washes with Badab Black. Painted gold over the lettering and gave that an Orgyn Flesh wash. Then i pained the eyes. all thats left is to paint are the weapons.

i'll take pictures as soon as I can, It prolly wont be tonight :(

Sorry for taking so long to update, But RL has been taking over. It's not that I haven't had time for the hobby or time to lurk on Dakka because check everyday and paint once in a while. Its taking photos that I have been laking. I dont have much space and I hate setting up for photos.

I actually been quit busy with my Grey Knights! I have one palladin fully painted and I'm working of doing a Lava base. I dont like it. Here are picture I took with my phone (cant find the camera)




I also tried a few attempts On doing the crystal power swords. I took some photos with the phone but they didn't turn out well. I'll try again tonight..

I have also did some work on the Dreadknight. finished the other leg. Added the Red and white.




C&C are welcome. I also need help with the Lava

Any comments? Advice?
