So many conflicting rumors at the minute with Dark Angels though. Rumors of them being the new Campaign, but a 1 week release for just Codex & Crap. No new models whatsoever, but a Character and Squad box set to release. Following on the coat-tails of SM, but after SM there's nothing but Fantasy. Can someone more versed in who is full of doo-doo and who isn't sort out the reliable from the random?

The high quality info
Sad Panda and Darnok are among the most reliable rumour-mongers. So a Codex in June seems highly likely. Darnok hasn't mentioned models and Sad Panda mentioned a Chaplain.

The medium quality info
The Dark Angels Tac Squad... . Could just be educated guesses, because Blood Angels got a Tac Squad. 50/50 I'd say. Whisper of Truth first rumoured it and than said it wasn't coming ?

Generally GW doesn't do predictable.

The poor/conflicting stuff
The Dark Angels/Daemonkin campaign box seems to directly contradict Darnok's claim that Dark Angels are followed by Fantasy. So that seems highly unlikely.

Also, while most "guess-mongers" have taken a shot at a 2015-version of Storm Claw, it's been everything from Sisters-vs.-Tzeentch to DV-expansion-campaign to now (Tzeentch?/Khorne?/Nurgle?) Daemonkin. Chances it'll happen are next to nil IMO.

Also, the 2015-version of Storm Claw may well have been Execution Force.

It's not. Doesn't mean it's getting pushed back. Just means it was never coming in this release slot. There's alot of Fantasy stuff coming, then Tzeentch stuff which will see a welcome return to 40k. Rubic Marines for one. I'm not entirely sure about a box set anymore though. I'm beginning to wonder if I got my info muddled up. I posted about a Khorne vs Imperium campaign book a while back, which would lead into a Tzeentch campaign book, but that just turned out to a WW exclusive. I had heard the two campaign books this year would be chaos based and I still think that's the case, but they might no neccesarily lead onto one another. (I seriously doubt they will.)


I also heard about a box set with a sorceror and chaplain in it, which I later corrected myself to say the Chappie would get an independent release. Then a Sorceror turned up in Execution Force....

So not 100% on a box set anymore, but we'll defo see something linking Dark Angels and Tzeentch later in the year. What ever the case, where going to see ALOT of Chaos lovin over the next year and abit.

Right now there isn't much else I can post. There's some Fantasy stuff End of April/Start of May and then Dark Angels/Tzeentch. I went against two rumour heavyweights LoWG and Nightfury about what was supposed to be coming out this year and signs point to me being right.

Check my post history and the date of Hastings post and you'll see that I did indeed mention DA+Tzeentch first. (I'll admit though I thought back the Tzeentch stuff was just Daemons. But hey, we can't be right 100% of the time.)

Not much to accuse there. Pretty consistent claims about DA coming up next with the correction that the Tac squad isn't coming and Tzeench will be after that. If there's some fantasy wedged between DA and Tzeench that's still accurate enough for me.

RE: Tzeench thread: yes, but it allways changes it's name and place and once you in there, all links leading outside mysteriously vanish

Doing so, I (subjectively) ranked Whisper (sorry if I got the gender wrong) as "medium quality source"; lower than Darnok or Panda, higher than Natfka/BoLS stuff on some of the things, but things are a bit complicated because Whisper amended the rumours a few times (as she herself tried to explain).

I put up the rough evolution of the Whisper's DA-rumours. Sharkoutofwata & co should be able to make their own picture from there. To me, it "feels" like there's a consistent kernel of truth hidden in Whisper's rumors, but there also appears to be a bit of Chinese Whispers (pun not intended) going on, etc.. stuff I can't really judge or comment on, at least not any better than simple pointing to the first-hand history of "evolving DA rumours".

I can't wait to see what they add this time. The masses of maces instead of swords and the darkshroud were enjoyable to take the micky out in 6th.

I still fondly remember someones custom chapter badge of winged maces instead of the traditional swords.
I cant remember if it was on Dakka or on the B&C forum but someone posted a drawing of a darkshroud with a dj in the back with a caption along the lines of "Drop the emperors holy base!"

I eagerly await this batches humorous new editions. Maybe we'll get a full RaveWing to go with the Dubshroud.

Given the number of rumoured kits, I would anticipate something on the lines of the GK update.

It wouldn't surprise me if the plane and mobile disco get the heaviest revision as I can't imagine anyone interested in the game, rather than just collecting the models, invested too heavily in he, first time around.

I really, really hope this turns out to be true honestly. Firstly because Tzeentch is always the most crapped on of the Chaos Gods, and more importantly, Chaos Marines are now to the point that we're the worst looking AND worst supported model line available 'off the shelf' in GW stores.
We're at the point we literally need a near-100% re-do of our entire ****ing line! The only workable kits currently are the Termie Lord/Sorcerer, Possessed, Raptors, Hellbrute, Rhino & Land Raider kits - everything else is garbage quality

Oh, and for once GW, can we please have some new weapon options for our squads? Marine players have had all kinds of goodies given and/or returned to them, while we've been stuck with the same unit options for 16 ****ing years!!

Whisperer is very much an unknown quantity. He/she has only a couple rumors that have actually been evaluated so far (I think about 5 or so).

All good points to consider when handling these rumors. Atia posted today the old Assault Squad kit is marked soldout on the GW webstore and the GW blog will show a teaser video on monday morning. It will be about 'And they shall know no fear' (It is possible to read the headlines of future blog post(s)). Anyway it should be pretty clear by now that Adeptus Astartes are the next major release.

A few more posts from Darnok regarding the Dark Angels release

I've been told there would be two more upgrade sets, so UM and DA are only the first half of that. Devastators will be the second kit after Assault Marines. Add a few clampack characters, and that's the SM release. DA will only get a codex and a character (plus this upgrade frame). I don't know whether the older DA upgrade sprue will remain in production - I hope so.

Blood Angels/Space Wolves and Grey Knights didn't get them. I wouldn't count on it.

Those are all 'in your face' chapters though. DA are more long range in theme. But I'm also not holding my breath. I imagine there will be no significant changes in rules :(

Still don't think that matters lol. They've got Deathwing stuff and a gak load of Ravenwing. Would be nice though if their Vengeance Speeder had a greater range than 24" and the Dark Talon's Rift Cannon was more powerful. Like Strength D since it apparently works in a similar manner to D-weapons the Eldar use.

Make the flyers and DW more competitive, thats all I ask. If those two things happen there will be the most energetic/pathetic nerd cartwheel of all time.

Ughh, I'm excited and not all at once.

I have enough armies. More than enough armies. Then I got a cheap DV box a couple of weeks ago and went about putting together all the Angels from it and what was left from the one I had. Then I went out and bought a Veterans box and some second-hand minis at my FLGS. Now I've got a small DA force but no rules for it.

Thinking I may have to shell out for another $60 Codex (though I may drop my Crimson Fists and distribute what I can amongst my Space Wolves and new DA...)

Well that's a find. Also, Leman Russ? So there allready is an official GW model for one of the primarchs? How is that not known to the greater public?

Also, the UM sprue mirrors pretty much the UM captain here. So I guess gee-dubs is running out of new ideas and butchers every old source they have lying around.

The Leman Russ mini is super tiny compared to a modern marine. I've got one but haven't found a use for him yet.

I think it's kinda cool to have throwbacks to older models. The BA captain inspired Tycho, Dante and the Sanguinary Guard and created some unique imagery amongst the Astartes.
I find that "newer" models that don't sip some of the style and ideas from the older concepts are somewhat lacking and uninspired (like Centurions and Stormraven/Talon).

Leman Russ wasn't always a primarch in the fluff.

Makes me feel really old that some of you guys have never seen these classic models before.
