Fixed, thanks Dysartes.

Thank you Aryllon.

Worked on the second Hammerhead, again magnetizing the turret and the weapons on the turret.

I like the smooth almost clean look your Tau have, very fitting for the Tau

Thanks Toxic_Toast.

Here was armoured column of Tau fighting vehicles.

Also added two models to the Pathfinders...which even today I question as they had Rail Rifles and they reduced the number of markerlights for more points and they have never been fielded.

This is a very nice Tau force Captain Brown. I particularly like the concentration on infantry and Devilfish/ Hammerheads as I think that is what the core of a Tau force should be. I've let myself get distracted by all the more recent big suits.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks give_me_a_d,

Next up was a Commander figure, I had been using the single suit with two Shield Drones...but since that Suit's job was to Deep Strike behind enemy tanks with 14 front armour the Suit usually did not last very long and would be giving a free VP to my opponents.

I got some more old style suits in a trade, a pair that had been assembled and primed black. With some work to move an arm and the head I came out with this:

The second suit had been assembled as a flying suit, so I needed something to make it stand out as the latest version of the Commander Suit had not come out yet.

Next I worked on the second suit to make a Commander figure, but was not really convinced it was what I wanted.

In the meantime here is the army at this point with only the new Commander missing.

Army shot is impressive! They have a very clean finish which is what the Tau aesthetic is all about IMO

Thanks Toxic_Toast,

However I did not keep that perfect clean finish as several models had damage from their re-building and repair...so I incorporated it as some minor damage:

Tried to keep on only a few models...usually those with marks I could not completely clean up.

I also started adding the Sept markings and some decals on the tanks.

More shots of Firewarriors with Sept markings and a little battle damage.

And some more of the Devilfish.

And the second damaged Devilfish. Scars on the tank left by superglue remover.

Thanks Dysartes,

Another Devilfish gets decals and final touch-ups.

I believe I had numbered the tanks one and two and the third one with Pathfinder markings.

Also some more infantry were given some battle scars.

Now the next edition were perhaps the cheapest models...when the new Broadsides came out folks were looking to get rid of their old ones as fast as possible. So for the price of a couple of Shield Drones I added a pair of old Broadsides.

Seeing them all together is quite something. The markings and wear and tear you've added really makes for a great looking force. Well done.

Thanks Inevitable_Faith and give_me_a_d,

Next up was a Crisis suit I received in a trade, it was primed and in pieces but was repairable. It became the second Bodyguard suit.

Then the Commander and Bodyguard...I still was not sold the on the Commander model and figured at some point I would go back and make some changes.

Also acquired another Devilfish and a Firewarrior squad at a sale, so they are still to come.

Thanks SickSix and Bignob,

Next up was that forth Devilfish and this one was painted up in Pathfinder markings.

The antenna and converted shield piece which I am using as a Disruption Pod are both magnetized...in fact I went back and drilled holes in each of the tanks, inserted a rare earth magnet, covered it up with some glue and sanded it down then added a decal over top to show where they were.

That forth transport gave me this force.

Pretty good for an army built initially to be used in photos with my Elysians.

Thank you evildrcheese.

So next up was some of that next squad of Firewarriors. It was about this time I received another squad's worth of Firewarriors in bits in a trade as many players were getting out of Tau again or replacing their models with new ones.

The next six I built with Pulse Carbines to add to the six I already had and made a complete squad.

So I had two squads with Pulse Rifles and one with Pulse Carbines.

Then I was on to small stuff, like the second SkyRay turret.

Underside of the turret with some metal to secure the magnets.

Oddly, I don't see the box art Tau scheme often, or at least I haven't since maybe 4th edition. These guys are looking excellent though - like they stepped right out of the old codex! The only thing I'd do is vary up the basing a little bit more - the odd tuft of grass or rock could really help ground the force and make them look even better. As is, you've got a wonderfully cohesive force painting to a fantastic standard.

Check out my Youtube channel!

Brother SMR,

Thanks, the bases are fairly plain (only six shades of Brown to Skull White) because I planned to used them mostly as photo stand-ins for my Elysian Army and to contrast the models.

Next up was that Commander model that I was not satisfied with, did some more work and this was the result. (Entirely built from original Crisis suit and some vehicle parts for antenna).
