So - what scares people the most (i) 9 broadsides and 15 Crisis suits, or (ii) 3 stormravens full of dreadnaughts death co, and vanguard vets.
Not asking what's the most competitive (!), just what makes you wet your pants and run form the room screaming like a little girl.
EYIG
Sorry EYIG but its Robbs' list we are really worried about (I bet you didn't let him get any more Daemons for Christmas)
Purely from a Hydra owners perspective I would rather you brought your 3 Storm Ravens
I dunno... your run 2 Hydras? So that's 6 hits at strength 7. So one glance and one pen... I'll get a 5+ from my libby. Don't mind those odds too much! And there's 3 of them! TO be fari however, your list does pack a lot more fire power. The secret would be going first!
TBH I'm beginning to fall out of love with my Tau. They're very static and every game is beginning to feel the same. Another option is to take my Eldar off the shelf, or just flood the board with FNP assault marines!
Robb's list just gets worse and worse - I played him yesterday and just managed to scrape a win. If it had gone on to turn 6 I think he would have won! It's just such a pity there are so many Grey Knight players.

You forget the way we roll dice, 4 TL Autocannons means 2 hits and then double ones for penetration as can be proved by Saturdays shooting.
4 Veteran Melta Gunners + Bring It Down = 1 Stun (negated by demonic possesion).
3 Demo Charges = 1 Dead Terminator + 4 Dead Veterans (from the above mentioned CCS) + 5 Dead SWS Guardsmen from the six man squad that threw them.
I've bought Seans excess AC HWS and he assures me they will shoot down everything within 48".

To be fair, both of EYIG's potential armies are scary.
9 twin linked rail gun shots a turn? That can potentially target different things? On top of all of those crisis suits?
Compared with three ravens full to the brim with crazy combat specialists and dreads, turbo boosting close to your lines with an inherent 4+ cover save unless you're shooting with a hydra?
Both very strong armies.
I will let you all know if I'm down at GOW on Tuesday. I need to test out my 1750, 2000 and 2250 points lists.

But remember Sean plays it that if the ride goes down the passengers die, 500pts+ going down to one shot makes it more of a risk.
Anyway who next has a Unit to scare us with because I dont think my Ratlings scare anyone

As the FAQ shows, a fast transport's passengers would only be destroyed in its own movement phase due to to the transport being destroyed by (for instance) entering/leaving dangerous terrain, Ram, Death or Glory. The passengers only die if the transport moves flat out and is itself destroyed in that specific movement phase. The Units were destroyed in the opponents shooting phase so the fact it was a scout move has no bearing on the result.
The last FAQ said so and this just clears it up. As it is a sore subject with me still (Gregs actions on the day, not Seans interpretation of the rule) I will not mention its further but to say there are loads of posts on the subject both on Dakka and other sites explaining the rule in detail.

Just show us where it says they die. The FAQ says they dont.
Just so we agree on the actual scenario
Three Vendettas all loaded with troops
All 3 move flat out in the scout move
All three shot down in the opponents shooting phase
Where in the rules does it say the passengers die? Remember from the same FAQ also says if "turn" is mentioned it specificaly means player turn, to be a game turn the rule must state "game turn"

Are scout moves classed as a seperate movement phase?
Cos that FAQ quote EYIG got says 'that movement phase', not 'the previous movement phase'.
It will count because the Scouts have a Movement phase at the start, right?
