Anyone know what Chapter this guy was meant to be for?

I know this seems random, but I just loved the paint scheme and had to know.

I'm not sure if it was for any specific chapter, but coincidentally I posted a similar question about the same figure on Dakka (find the thread here).

Hope it answers your question... There's a useful link to a site with what looks like all the GW/Citadel catalogues through the ages in the thread too...

Yea, I am just curious about the Chapter that was painted on said model.

I've got two of these babies, god I love this model!

Couldn't tell you the chapter though, but by the look of the style and colour of page border it's from around second edition, and back then 'codex' chapters were churned out by the barrel in the books!

Dunno either, sorry, but I love that model too - he features as a captain in my "old school" Blood Angels army

If it doesn't have a Chapter to it, I may well take this color scheme and give it some background. Always fun.

Kinda looks like a white panther, the odds are its from some chapter that the painter made himself.

As per above, it was an Imperial Fists Captain (although he could equally be a Crimson Fist). I agree he painted as what looks to be a White Panther.

Definitely not Pre Heresy because of Mk7 Power Armour, it was released about 92-95 something like that, i remember because i dropped the Cloak backpack and used him as a Veteran Sergeant rather than a Captain.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

90% sure that this was meant to be a Dark Angel. The bone areas were meant to denote his induction into the DeathWing. I have or had the WD this is in, but it's in storage somewhere.

Also, this isn't an Imperial fist/Crimson fist captain. It's just a marine captain. I think it was recast with a fist emblem replacing the skull on the chest for an Imperial Fist army box.

Come to think of it this might be from one of the old painting guides.

I have this model from back in the day. It is probably my all time fave Marine captain (and it is Marine captain, not Fists captain, like the guys said).

There does seem to be the hint of a wing emblem on his shoulder pad, with that colouring I'd put him as a Dark Angel with a bit of Death Wing insignia.

Makes me feel so old seeing this model, lol. It was a Dark Angels Deathwing captain wearing power armor, hence the terminator honors on his belt.

This is right. First time I saw him was in one of the 2nd edition rulebooks.

The rarefied atmosphere

I don't recognise the chapter. what catalogue is it from, are there any other models in the same colour scheme?? It's a good scheme. It reminds me of the terminators done several years ago in purple that won gold for a squad entry and they had an eagle motif styling. but they were entirely purple and an original chapter.

It's a good model because it is standing in a way that looks real. Kind of like how corbulo's waist twists a little bit and it all looks connected.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

It's a Dark Angel paint job from the land before everything was set in stone.

The model was sold as a captain with terminator honours.

I think some of you are mistaking this model with Captain Cortez of the Crimson Fist (better known as the ballerina marine around here!). Zip Napalm beat me to it as far as the when & where!

Unusual for a DA paint job, the black/white fits but the purple is odd. That looks like the red wings of the DA symbol on the right shoulder though.

I painted mine up as Mentor legion as GW was big into them back when this dude came out.

Here's the Imperial Fist Captain some people are thinking of. He came with the Imperial Fist army deal in the waning days of 2nd edition. If you look, he's got a fist on his chest, but he's just a conversion of the original.

And the color scheme isn't black and white, it's a very desaturated dark green and bone, back from the days when the Dark Angels (and really everything) had a much looser definition of "correct" color schemes. And it doesn't strike me as purple, just a dark grey.

Must be a monitor calibration thing. I don't see the slightest hint of green in the dark color, and a definite purple tint to the mid. Or I'll pull it into PS and see what that makes of it.
