Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I felty that it didn't quite fit with the other board games.
Played a board game imaginatively called Zombies on Friday. To be fair the tag line is something like, play the game it's a no brainer
Unsurprisingly it is about Zombies. Lots of them as is their wont.
You start off with 3 bullets and 3 life (heart) tokens. Aim is to kill 25 zombies or get to the helipad to win.
If you die, you are sent back to the Town Centre and lose half your Zombies.
What I quite like is the organic way the town map grows as each player places a map tile drawn from the deck, at the start of each turn.
It's a bit like fog of war on computer games. There are various action cards of which no more than three may be held. Depending on the card they can be used to buff yourself or hinder your opponents. Life tokens are collected in stores to a maximum of 5. You can collect as many bullet tokens as possible.
To defeat zombies you need a D6 4+. Failure means giving up a life token or bullets to the difference of the die roll and a 4.

There was just 2 of us playing, a simple game but good fun from a few more players and a few beers and it would be a hoot imho.
There are also a couple of expansion packs or possibly several. Think there is one set in a circus.
If there is one thing scarier than clowns, then it has to be zombie clowns!

Yupp, its a good game, been around for ever and there are alot of expansions. I think they have branched out lately, I'm pretty sure there is a Martians version of it. I belive this game falls into the category of Tile Games.

If you like that game, I'd recommend looking into Carcassone also.

Definitely a fun game. I don't play as much as I did when I first bought it but It's nice that it doesn't take forever like some of my other games.

Yeah, I've played that. It was a giggle.
I've heard there's an expansion called 'Humans' in which the roles are reversed. Awesome.

You need about the entire floor of a living room to be able to enjoy this game.
I carry around the game in a backpack with painted red splatters and tatterings as if raked by zombie claws. Everyone knows when I bring the Zombie game along.

It can be fun with a bunch of friends, but that's about all I have to say about it that's positive. From a pure game design standpoint I've found that the zombies become so thick that the game just bogs down unnecessarily and nobody can get anywhere or that one player gets a streak of good luck and wins really quickly. Either way, if you have fun with it that's what counts Prime, wash and base those zombies and you have a Nurgle Plague Zombie formation as well.

This. I bought it a while ago (thought it'd be good, got some good recommendations) and it can be a ruiner of friendships. There is so much dickery in that game, it's not even funny. I've had games go on for like 30-60 minutes longer than they should have been just because the person in the lead gets screwed out of victory every turn.
I'm not really a fan of the game, myself. Interesting concept, but way too easy to constantly screw people out of winning.

You could say that about risk and monopoly, those games are all about manipulation.

Or wargaming
Know what Locclo is getting at though.
It isn't like Dawn of the Dead with people cooperating to survive, there is only one place on that helicopter and so it's every man, woman (or zombie in the role reversal extension pack) for themselves.

GREAT GAME!
Best played (IMO) with about a half dozen people.
I recall hearing (but have never seen myself), there's a "Humans!!!" game out there, where you play the Zombies. Similar game. Same creators.

Can't see zombies getting on a chopper
do they have to catch a ghost train to win?
alternatives might be a F-4 Phantom or AC-130 Spooky gunship.
