So, after a small break, here are some of my latest commissions that I've done. I have a tons of stuff for my client to finish, but here
are some of the first that are made:

Craters, some small ones (which are not small at all, as you can see), the 2 of them joined, and finally this large piece of three craters

And this is the eagle tower, a complex of two buildings, with a lot of details and space to move your miniatures around. It is perfect for TLOS,
hiding and all sorts of different scenarios. I really enjoyed making this one.

Both pieces are perfect for 40k and Warmachine and I am looking forward to test them
As soon as I finish other items, I'll post some more.
Cheers!

The craters are cool, but I feel like they kind of just look like rocky embankments with sinkholes in them....the rims are far too solid and irregular to look like ejecta from a crater.

That being said, I really like the eagle tower though. It looks really fun to play on, and that's some really great attention to detail as well. Especially love the creative use of bendy straws
I am curious though...was the brick on the smaller building all done freehand? If so, that's INCREDIBLY impressive.

thank you for your comments, these craters are first I've ever made, so I suppose that next ones are going to be much better.

As for the Eagle tower, I had special kind of styrofoam that has lines on one side. But still you have to draw vertical lines, and deepen the existing ones.

Cheers!

looks cool....I like them..

My only complaint is the straws.....they need something done to them. Maybe seems or rivets on the end to show different peices connected.

As far as improving the craters go, if you plan to make more, you need more of a built up lip around the edges. Wikipedia to the rescue

I think that would really help the look of yours a lot, even on the rocky bases like you have. Speaking of which, I do like the rocky parts on their own a lot. They look like they'd work really well as convincing hills, while avoiding the two problems most gaming hills have. Most either slope gradually, which looks realistic but can make it awkward to place a lot of infantry on them, or are sloped steeply and have flat tops which make it easier to place a lot of models on either sides of the slope, but look really fake. Yours look quite easy to place models on and around, but appear to be pretty natural rock formations.

Thank you both for your comments and pictures of the crater. I'll try to achieve that when the next opportunity arrives.

Cheers!
