Hey all. I have finally got round to re-doiny my Imperial Guard army, and as I live in Scotland i thought what better theme to base them on! Trouble is, do I go full hog and do the kilts? Well...i bit the bullet and here is my 1st few kilted models!

Let me know what you all think

Therefore, yours are most definitely NOT crap, without me even having to look at them.

That being said, I like them. All you need is a bag of haggis somewhere.

You, sir, are pure mental, like. I went for using the flag and tactical symbols, but the idea of painting tartan gave me the screaming heebie-jeebies.

If you want ultra-realism you should look up the difference between the military style kilts and the civilian models (and yes, there is a difference

)

Hey again. Im thinking doing different tartans for different platoons, to suggest clan tartans.
Flinty: Lol it is a bit fiddly. As to the military kilts, im going for a more Rob-Roy era look then modern kilts. Plus, they take enough modelling anyway! But thanks

these look fantastic. if you have ogryn in your army you should totally have them wearing woad. also on a side note are their kilts any clan in particular?

This is pure awesome! But if I may make a suggestion, you have to give at least one model a set of Bagpipes. And perhaps include a Sheltie as well.

A loud McCloud style tartan, interesting choice, as a bagpiper myself, I also say get a piper made, use him as the standard bearer.

No, count it as a heavy weapon of some sort. You must at least use a bagpipe for something.

ps I think the Brin Milo model from the old Tanith 1st line has a set of warpipes modeled on him. Just trow a kilt on him and you would be good to go. You might be able to fine one on ebay hopefully for cheap.

edit: I just looked on the GW site..they have the whole Tanith set for sale, no individual models. Also the Milo doesn't have warpipes..he has something that looks lke a cross between parlor pipes and a pan flute.
