So I headed off to Ontarios largest 40k tournament, and there was roughly 70 people in the crowd on the Sunday single tourny (the doubles had 51 teams so I had been told the day before). There looked to be a great mix of armies present and a lot of really well painted armies as well. There was an unsually large amount of ork players (much more than i had anticipated, since I left all my flamers at home), there was also a decent amount of nid players. All the ork players were running very similiar lists (hey dash), tripled BW with deffrollas, some nobs, gaz and big mek were present in every list. Also a very healthy amount of eldar players present (which also surprised me). There actually was very few SW players (I only saw 3, could have been more though), and only a handful of BA (5-10).

Anyways, onto the tournament. It used the win, draw, loss with battle points with a pri, sec, ter objective with 3 bonus points and 3 penalties per round.

2 Trygon primes
Trygon

Objectives: DOW, pri=seize ground, sec=KP, ter=getting more units into opponents deployment

I won roll to go first and took it. I played Justin at the last local tourny (RTT) and he was as nice of an opponent now as he was than, it was great playing him and hopefully we play again.

Turn 1:
I bring everything on, stay central since he reserved all trygons and all genestealers. Shooting from me sees nothing.

He brings on both HG and the prime, and hides the termagants in the corner. The tervigon tries to FNP but bites a perils.

Turn 2:
Council decides to go for the gusto and heads towards the HG, since its his only ranged shooting. I keep all my tanks back and central, to avoid outflanking. Shooting sees most of the one HG squad die.

He gets 2 genestealers squads and a regular trygon in. HG shooting blows off two weapons from tanks.

Turn 3:
Shooting sees the one trygon severly wounded. I back away from the one genestealer squad out of camera site. I assault and kill the one HG unit, along with the trygon who dies on his turn.

He gets another trygon in (prime). And the other stealer squad which he brings in top corner near his objective. His other trygon dies in combat to council, which hes now added the wounded tervigon into.

Turn 4:
I get both dragons sqauds out to unload on the trygon prime and completly vaporize it. Seer council finishes off the tervigon and decides between the prime and the stealers. On the bottom right his genestealers are killing a DA unit of mine which failed to kill them.

His final trygon comes in. Most of his shooting goes into the fire dragons who dont die. His shooting is very limited now, and I control 2/4 objectives at this point and am in a serious KP lead.

Turn 5:
I dont manage to kill the trygon, I leave him with 1 wound from the dragons. The seer council goes after the HG and prime which destroys both units. I flatout an empty dragon transport to contest the topleft objective. Most of my shooting goes into the left genestealers who kill everything but a wounded broodlord.

He goes for a last effort dash and puts genestealers into seer council combat but its not enough and I continue to kill things. His broodlord and trygon assault the flatout tanks and both wiff on damage results.

Time called, 2 objectives to 0. Serious KP lead. All bonus points. 33/33 points.

The rest of the day would go downhill from here as my dice would completley abandon me after this game (shame really).

Did you also paint your opponent's army? Lol. That paint scheme looks almost identical to yours.

Anyways, congrats on your victory. As a tyranid player, I loathe to fight against mechdar. I just hate going against all that speed with my slow-as-molasses nids.
