I am going to be getting a few Tau Broadsides, and I was wondering how easy it would be to swap the rail guns and the missile systems. I think I prefer the look of the missile packs on the shoulders and the guns on the arms.

Any comments or helpful hints would be appreciated.

Thank you for that, it was exactly what I needed. In particular the bit about narrowing the back unit, that is invaluable advice for this project.

My own versions. Pretty simple to acheive, but the railguns should definately be pinned up.

on top of the shoulders railguns aren't bad looking but they are a bit boring. i didn't want both of my squads to have the same look so i did a charlies angels unit of broadsides to differentiate them.

Broadsides are easily the best thing in the Tau dex right now. You just cant argue a point the NOT take them. Very cool conversions lads

Seen it done lots of times, not that hard to do.

Here is mine trying to work in the A.S.S. system.

Thought I'd throw one in as well. Pretty basic but its come together well. I cut both barrels off the body of the guns, then re-pinned them both to one body. Flattened the back of the gun body out so it sat well on the arm, and added an extra pin to the extended arm to help support things. The gun isn't attached yet which will make painting easier.
Oh and got to say I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the metal parts in here. The barrels aren't straight, the back of the discarded gun body was curved in, and there was flash everywhere. With the bent and miscast pieces I was really close to sending this one back. Seeing as GW plastics are great its a damn shame they are letting their metals slip so badly. Anyway, I'll post again once its painted.
