I just made it into round 2 of Golden Demon!

EDIT: Tbh his DP was pretty well painted but not to GD standards imo.

I must say after reading the last thread about this, it is a epic, if accidental, troll.

It is actually probably true. The Australian GD is done differently to the rest of the world. Our GD goes over a month with a bunch of qualifying and regional rounds. So on the basis that there may have been very few entrants for his region, it is quite possible that he qualified.

Given it probably won't go beyond the second round.

Ahhh, now I get it! That Skulltaker is definately Australian GD First Round Standard, and yes, I guess the certificate would just back that up for me.

Thanx, I just thought it might of been a bit interesting, definitely to the fact that half of the people on here said I would get past the 1stt round and for me, this is a huge achievement, so, yeah!

Unfortunately, pretty much apart from the Australian's don't understand the way the Australian GD works. Congratulations on securing entry into the next round. You should try to make the trip to Sydney for the finals in November and look at the entries. (even if you don't qualify)

Ah that makes sence, i thought it was the DP you entered, the skulltaker is a hell of alot better imo.

You need a lot more than a week of practice to get GD level.

And next year, you won't be in youngbloods. You'll be competing with the big boys. And what you've presented so far, is table top quality, not GD quality.

Oh... so it's not like normal Golden Demon style, where you show up at Games Day, they do a 1st Cut at around noon, then you find out who won Demons at the end of the day. Gotcha. That's actually kind of cool, as it prevents the actual Golden Demon competition from being flooded with a bunch of garbage that the judges just get tired of wading through. It's kind of like a screening process. Interesting system, and good job on making through the first hurdle.

I don't know man round 2.

Basically.

It's an interesting system, it does annoy some of the more professional painters (general the ones who enter other GD etc) as you have to wait a month to find out the results etc and you are without your mini for a substantial time.

I guess in the end it does save the judges on the final day the issue of having to look at everything instead they just look at the best entries.

I didn't enter young bloods, i entered my Skulltaker in medium sized under 18's.
I dont want to argue and personally I dont think I'll make it past round 2!

But I just think thats wonderful actually!
