When someone said "they need a wash" he didn't mean you should launder them...

Seriously though, I think the very next thing would be to finish the badges on the Razorbacks and Baal Predator to match the Rhino.

Then weapons on the marines and bases.

Love the BA Symbol on the Rhino, too.

I have only been collecting and painting for about a year and im not artistic in any way but i started my BA using Jawaballs technics off of youtube. they are simple techniques and i have refined them to suit me and what i think looks good.

I start with priming in grey, yes grey... i know its contraversial but i find grey gives the best overall colour base instead of black or white.
I then cover the whole model in GW Blood red usually twice to get a nice even coat.
Then its Boltgun metal for the wheels and metal parts.
next a thin line of Blazing orange on all the edges and angle changes on the tank (dont worry if its not even its supposed to look natural not man made)
then I wash the metal Inc tracks in badab black wash (go heavy on the tracks) and i use ogryn flesh wash on the whole tank (red parts) again really heavy in the deepest recesses or where you want dark shades. Remember that for every highlight there should be a shade.

Finally its finish the detail like sensors, vision slits, emblems etc and use a 50/50 mix of blazing orange and yellow on all the front facing edges as an extreme highlight. If you go too strong you can wash it again with ogryn flesh to tone done those areas.

It is a really simple process and apart from the bit of time it takes for the blazing orange highlight it is quick. a tank can be done in only a few hours excluding drying time.

thanks for the feedback
the red dread is a standard metal furioso dread so standard ccw arms and the black drad is my deathcompany dread with blood talons. the arms are forgeworld ccw arms. i think they make ideal blood talons as they keep the dread look and toughness.

Those are still red though. The rest of your details are so beautiful, it looks strange to me that they are unpainted.

Good looking army there man, the red is so vibrant and well done, and the shading looks great too! Personally, I like hazard stripes on the front of Vindicators, but that's just me. Lets get some more closeups of the infantry, especially the Death Company, I'd love to see how they look up close.

Can you link / explain how to magnetise the baal preds? I have one already glued up but my second one is NoS and I have no idea how to go from the building process with the rare earth magnets I have. I only have 1/8" by 1/16". Will that work as well?

Its a simple process the turret wont need magnetising as the part all fit together nicely anyway so just dont glue the flamestorm or assault cannon in and dont glue the rear turret part so that you can change that too. it wont need magnetising.

the bits that need magnetising are the sponsons and doors,
i start bydriilling a magnet into a small piece of sprue and glueing it into the door area (see pic) make sure it is flush with the large rim area. then its just a matter of putting a magnet on the back of the sponson for that to magnetise in (also seen in pic)
the doors are a little trickier as you need to cut a piece of sprue so that it is the exact same depth as needed to make the door flush and then drill in another magnet to that piece of sprue and glue it to the door (also in pic)
my best tip is one you have the first stage done and flush put your next magnet on it add glue to the back of the mag and hold the sponson or door tight in place till the glue sets, that way you dont need to work out where to place the magnets its done for you.
the other great thing is all the spare bits fit inside the rhino when not in use.

Thats very helpful, However what do you do about the flamer / bolter weapon options in the sponsons themselves? Do they just click in or do you own two sets of sponsons?

they push fit as do the sponson covers(once primed and painted). its a really easy kit to swap about

Nice thanks. When I first saw the thread i thought to my self, is this Jawaballs army? You did a very good job of following his tut's but it deffinitly has your own spin on it which is great. I took the liberty of going through your gallery and you sir have too many army's and models for your own good!

Although I did notice you tend to like the transports with ground troop mentality in most of them.
