Ok people, normally the last month's winner chooses the topic for the next month's MoM contest. However, since there was some issues with the MoM contest I want to give people plenty of time to work on their entries. Without further adu:

December 2010 MoM Subject: Tis the Season for Pie!

This is a single model that fires any template or larger (i.e. Apoc 10", etc...) This can be any model that fires a template Large Blast, small blast or even a flame template is fair game as long as it shoots a template. l

For your entries, send a max of 3 pictures of your mini. No need for WIP pictures as it is very difficult to remember to take pictures during the WIP. These pictures will be placed into a temp gallery folder on Dakka for the MoM contest so the voting is secret.

PM me all the entires by NTL 12/27/2010 @ 5:00 PM CST. Voting will begin on 12/28/2010 @ 5:00 PM and end on 12/30/2010 @ 5:00 PM.

Well, it is all up to you how you want to paint it. The score is based off the vote posted by the members of dakka.

I chose the theme because pie to me is always a holiday thing. Hmm... pie. But the main thing is the selfless giving of pie plates to your enemy and if that doesn't scream holiday cheer I don't know what does.

Is this strictly painting, or are conversions/heavy conversions okay? I've got a counts-as vindicator in the works using an old rhino chassis, and this would definitely give me some incentive to finish it.

Painted would be great but it is not required. Since the voting is done by the Dakka Community it might weigh in the favor but if it is a really cool conversion it might stand on its own without paint.

I already have the first entry in the Dec MoM contest and it looks good but it is up to the Dakka community to decide. So enter your models with their pie plate giving skills.

Ok Dakka, I have a question for you. Since the belated Sept 2010 MoM contest voting is starting in a couple of days and we have our subject for the Dec 2010 contest do you think for next year that:

1. The next month's contest should be decided by the winner of the previous month?

or

2. Should I post the entire year that way along with the due dates and rule so people have time to get their submission done and ready?

I am looking for the contest to be a regular item and even trying to get some prize support from online vendors (boo on those that said no.) MoM contest is in your hands.

Well, I guess it is option #2. I will have a list posted here shortly of the new several contest topics so everyone knows which ones they want to enter.

What would you get if you won? My friend is thinking of entering, but he doesn't want to spend money on a new model and paint it without any chance of a prize.

Well, I am trying to get prize support from online wargaming stores but out of the 100 contacted only 3 replied so far and they declined.

Now your friend does not have to buy a new mini to enter into the contest. It can be a model that he already owns that fires a large blast template. I did it thos way so one has to spend any money if they don't want because I understand that there is no prize support yet. This contest right now is more about bragging rights for the winner but it also is for the Dakka community to come together and showcase their work.

Now that I have had an objection to me posting a list, the winner now can choose the next monthls contest topic.

The problem I have is that I don't actually have any models that fire large blast templates. Yeah, I run foot slogging orks, so not much of that. I guess I could wait for the next month though?

@ZoomDakkaDakka. I'm with you bro. I don't have anything that uses a large blast template and i don't have any money to buy one. I guess I have to wait for next month. UNLESS!.. Santa drops a vindicator down my chimney.

Wrats, if only I didn't do my Shas'O with Fragmentation Projector over the summer. *Sigh* time to break out the cash.

The revamped MoM contest the model does not have to be build or painted with in the month of the contest. If you have a model that fits that month's theme then it is fair game to be entered into the contest.

Also, I have gotten a lot of C&C on here and from many PMs about people having armies that don't have pie plate throwing units. This the season for giving and since it is the distinct pleasure of the giver to give as much as possible of his or her templates to the indeed needy I have opened the contest to all templates. So, large, small, flame what so ever as long as it shoots a template it is fair game.

Enter away fine ladies and gentlemen and let the templates fly.

That just reminded me of a Looted Wagon I painted for a commission for a friend. Hopefully he won't mind me borrowing it.
