Im putting together some Freebooters to serve as my truck boyz. The harpoon-looking arm can serve as a rokkit - if I were ever to pay the points for one. That hook serves as a PK for the nob. The rest of the nobs wont be nobs but will be part of his crew.

Queegueg is on the right with harpoon in hand. Ahab is in the center with leg and arm missing. I plan to fix up the trucks with masts and a sail, crows nest (with look-out grots) and boarding planks (of course).

Nice stuff!
Where did you get the pritae ork heads from?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I only have one problem with them. I don't like the hook as a power claw, it would be better off being a ccw instead. It's just not power klaw material. too small!

I fitted him with a PK on the other side but it blocked his peg leg too much. The hook will be fine as a PK.

They're MaxMini heads.

I picked up 5 nob heads and 10 boyz heads.

Cool. I love pirate orks. The wrist end of Ahab's hook looks like too much though, like it still has a chain link and would flop around.

I anxiously await MOAR!

hmmm - I was using that extra bit of the hook to present more of a base to glue it to the arm.... but I can trim it more and remove that so its flush to the stump if you think thatll be better. I could build up around it with green stuff - just a bit so it looks rounded at the base where it connects to the wrist.

Ill begin the trucks (2) tomorrow - Im contemplating how to make the masks. Ill be using the FW truck and half track and Ill put masts in the bed of the truck.

You could just GS over it or something too, if you wanted to keep the more secure gluing surface. I just think it liiks like it should be hanging down.

Have you thought about using skies for the front wheels, tucked behind a reinforced ram shaped like the bow of a ship.

hmmm I hadnt thought of ski's though I did want to make the truck look a bit more shiplike. I have 2 trucks and the FW kits to go with them. I think Id rather keep the look of the FW kit but add a little pirate flavor to them by adding masts and boarding planks and crow's nests.

You could put little spikey bits on the hook to make it look more menacing and thus be more prominen as a a PK to players who are glancing at the model. Perhaps to small glaives the length of the shaft at the shafts base like they would grab a hear out of a chest whole if he plunged it in. Gouge, twist, pull, more PK believale at a glance.

Honestly, the project is friggin awesome looking as is though, and personally I am just overblown with the coolness of literal pirate orks. Can't wait to see it finished.

“Well, what do you carry the gun for if you’re just going to waste bullets?” Timer reloads his Boomer as Forling fires his Shrapper.
“I may ‘ne be a good shot Timer, but I don’t miss much from this close up with my hammer,” Forling continues to fire.
“All the enemies are good and far away so what the hell does that…” Timer looks up to see Forling giving him an angry stare. “Oh, yea, ok, um, good shooting.”

These units of pirates will be a small contingent of my overall force. I simply couldnt pass them up even though they dont quite fit in with the rest of my Goffs.

I fixed the hook - removing that extra link. And I added a PK, replacing the slugga. It required a couple of snips so as not to block the view to the peg leg.

I love the look of them just can't see them as normal ork boys, seem far too big built as they are on nob bodies.

Can't you use them as Nobs? Seems like your playing yourself down using them as boys.

I wanted to maximize the number of pirate-looking models in the trucks. The rest of the army has 2 big units of Nobs and another 22 that Ive distributed throughout the Boyz mobs. Its a Goff army so they tend to be bigger and more bullish than the rest.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

What kind of friend would I be if I didn't flip you flak.
