TBH am not overly keen on the banner
I find it a distraction from the figure itself which is immense in every way!
I love the "donut" rings which add a layer of detail and texture that is just right imho
and so neatly done too! Smartypants Pete!

Wow thank you so much guys that is a lot of really nice comments. Going down the page I think my head just expanded exponentially.

Farty - You're in for a treat. Such a lovely model.

The Good Green - Each seal is meant to represent one step closer to absolution. ....he has many sins to make up for.

Chibi - The banner makes him for me. When he is painted it will have Penitent or Paenitent written on it advertising him as a sinner.

Baiyuan - Ha ha...well joining dakka and showing off my models off to a wider audience has definitely made me try harder. Because there is so much impressive stuff out there. Go paint!

That model makes you happy, doesn't it I am still giddy about finishing mine and can't wait for take two. Like I've told you already, this is one beautiful model!! And getting the love it deserves. Very much looking forward to seeing this painted. It'll be one cool warband!!!!

If I were to improve something, the lowest purity seal seals look a tad donutsy. The ones on the shoulder armor are somehow crispier and better proportioned.

I am mid way another Inquisitor it's the damn between jobs phase... Gotta put the creative urge somewhere... This will be my count as Coteaz for Legion project, so not part of the trilogy.

PDH, just... wow. That's possibly the best thing you've ever produced, and that is really saying something. So much character, so many little details, so much story suggested, he really is utterly incredible. The censers are a genius touch, and the backpack with all the cabling, just... yeesh. He radiates menace.

To be honest, I wasn't that inspired looking at the original, but seeing what you and migs have done with it, I have been more than converted. So awesome!

I can field this one! It's a combination of Necromunda + Inquisitors. Also played as a variation of 28mm Inq. Basically, you create a "gang" of Inquisitors, their agents, or Ad Mech and their agents, or even Rogue traders... really, it's whatever you want to make. Xenos and SMs are also in there. If you read Eisenhorn or Ravenor, these guys (Inqs) go out rooting heresy and finding/eliminating rogue agents of the imperium on any planet their journeys take them. Sometimes, this leads them to go head-to-head with other bands with other thoughts of how things should be done. Not sure, and perhaps others can add to this, but it's best played as a campaign and some role-playing. For our start (and never ended, but soon to be continued) =I= munda Promethean Hammer campaign (and future Darkest Night sequel) there's a primer that a recently uncovered STC artifact was taken by a band of Chaos SMs, whose ship was destroyed and scattered amongst the planets by the warp. We had a purist (no mutants, no unregistered psykers), a rogue trader (all over the place), and the opposite Inq band (hidden mutants inspired by the X-men). The fight goes against Planetary Defense Forces, one another, 'Nids, Predators (want some candy variety)...

Best example would be to search this forum for Migsula's Jade Vessel. Read through all the pages - they're damn exciting, and battle reports laid out like comic books. It's what gave me my start... Xanthos also has some great models, though I don't know the name of his blog for it (Kroot hunter mercs, I think?)... He plays it using Necromunda-based rules, to the best of my knowledge. Or better yet, hit him up with a PM. He's busy, but a guru and firestarter about this subject.

... that was all over the place, but I hope that gets you started! It's quite a journey, but totally worth it, especially if you can gather the terrain and campaign for it!

Getting mixed up with Inquisitor

Yes I've Read all of Eisenhorn/Ravenor and the original Inquisition Wars trilogy...this fascinates me! I will be reading all I can, thank you very much...I've even been fiddling with Inquisitor models in 28mm. I found the Inquisitor rulebook at half-price-books, never really read the rules. I have played the crap out of Necromunda though.

Not at all, Chibi- there are two legit versions (that I know of)- one of which you named. Some people like the extreme role-playing, everything in your pack being like a friggin' person and utilizing it in combat, stealth, or coercion. The one that we play is also based off of Migs'/ Necromunda (migs? Confirm, please?) That one also involves some RP, but since my game group is familiar with Necro and it's ease of use (tried 58mm Inq... failed horribly due to our youth) we use that system. I think Migs' system, to represent the Inq's better-equipped group (rather than the underhive gangs we know and love- Delaques... forever) they come out with more cash and initial perks/skills (3 for the leader, 2 for his "agents", either split or given to one...)

Either way, I'll check out my messages to see if Migs gave me a link to start up mine... almost certain he did. But I'll forward that to you. Either way, and bringing PDH's thread back on track- Peter, which system (if at all- I have a feeling you do 28mm Inq, not Inquisimunda) do you use? If it's the other one, perhaps you could give a breakdown of 28mm inq and get another convert?

I think the most important thing to remember when it comes to =][=munda, and the major thing that seperates it from standard Necromunda, is theme. The only thing grimdark about Necromunda is its setting. While I admit that setting plays an important roll, especially in the mind's eye, it actually has very little to do with the GAME itself. Setting means bupkiss when it comes to dice rolls and fighter interaction and the like, and very little, actually, in the campaign phase of the game as well. Change the names of things like territories around, and now your 40k skirmish is a post apocalyptic skirmish, or an old west skirmish, or what have you...

What =][=munda brings into yoru games of Necromunda is a theme. Now instead of your group of humans fighting over territory and resources with another group of humans, your group of humans, who happen to be psychoticaly loyal to a dieing deity held in stasis, are fighting a group of cultists and mutants who - oh gak! - just summoned a daemon from the warp who is bound to slaughter hundred or thousands of innocent, ignorant civilians en route to causing a planetwide breakdown of society and productivity...

Some folks use the 54mm Inquisitor game rules and just convert it down to 28mm instead, but most use a variation of Necromunda to represent their universe. You can alter Necromunda however you see fit, from merely modeling your models to represent agents of the Imperium or its enemies to writing lengthy sets of House Rules to represent what you want to see on the tabletop. It is entirely up to you. There are 3 or 4 versions floating around the net, if you want to do some hunting try the skirmish games forum towards the bottom of the forum index. Personally, I wrote my own house rules, blatantly stealing from the Inquisitor rulebook and Fantasy Flight RPG books and converted them into Necromunda, and cherry picked some of the bettter ideas I've seen other people use, but to be honest, mine are probably more complicated then necessary.

Anyways, its entirely up to you how you represent =][=munda in your games/campaigns/gaming group. Decide on a theme, figure out how to represent it, and just run with it!

Go! Go! GO!

Copied from a thread I just created in the skirmish games forum:

So, I have been rejuvenated with my =][=munda project thanks to some amazing threads in the P&M forums by Migsula, PDH, and the Pimp My Wizard/Sorceror threads. I have gotten my basic rules addendum to a playtest ready spot, I think...

Here is the Google Docs link:

I hope everyone will head on over and take a look, and give me some feedback. Right now I have it so only I can edit the document, but anyone can comment, so please do! Or feel free to comment here in this thread as well. I will bring updates of armories, "army lists" and the like as I get them playtest ready.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

Sorry for the hijack PDH!

These are the rules im planning on using, theyre not perfect but they are a good jumping off point, with lots of work having gone into them..

http://empireofghosts.blogspot.com/p/inquisimunda-resources.html

For me =I=munda is necromunda, inquisitor and dark heresy rolled into one. Its more about the roleplaying and the story than just shooting people imo.

Scarper - Thanks. Man telling me that it is the best thing I've done makes me sad. I've just raised my own bar now I'll have to try harder. I didn't think an almost mindless brute would consider keeping skulls so I decorated him to like a walking alter, someone else dresses him. He is a walking reminder to nobles of what will happen if they cross the line, I've got a clear idea where his story is going. The tech part of the backpack is Baiyuan and his eye for detail threads fault....the sign post was for the gothic horror aspect/contrast.

Nice link scaper - I will have to tell dsteingass how much I like it so far...in his thread. Lord give me more time.

Martin27 - Cheers dude. When you come visit we are having games of both Inquisitor and Necromunda (I've already got the mandatory bottle of port) (you could probably twist my arm into some 40k too plus a visit to the Conti).

HF Izanagi - Thank you, that is I think the nicest compliment ever. The weapon is huge...but so is he.... Plenty of space for adding detail to the casing too....checks and scratches. When I got him I really was surprised as to just how big it is....the normal chain axe was just tiny and pathetic. The Ork Nob box set is just amazing for bits and bobs.

Rogue Wolves, Chibi, HF, Vit, dsteingass, Deathgod. I've never played Inquisimunda and I don't think I have any plans to starts. I love Nercomunda (now using the Necromunda Community Edition) it is my favourite game: the setting, the gangs advancing, the crappy equipment rolls (yeah I would love a power fist....hmmmm I only have 23 creds....damn why isn't there a loan shark territory?) johnny getting captured every other game, the randomness. I like the low life gang concept of the game.

For my Inquisitor models I play Inquisitor 28. Here I love the I just shot at that axe wielding psychopath 6 times and missed....damn I need to reload, damn I have actually run out of ammo. This game feels more epic because of the fine detail. It feels more is hanging in the balance because of the narrative aspects, the not random selection of skills and equipment.

I would like to point you all to my friend Molotov's blog because this is what Inq28 is all about and I think is a fantastic read from the very beginning http://inq28.blogspot.com/2009/07/welcome.html

But of course Inquisimunda is out there and has brought about some fantastic modelling projects, was the reason I joined dakka in the first place and looks like it combines two good games. I think if you are going to seriously start a Imunda campaign you need the right group of people. Personally I look at Imunda as not only a gaming campaign but a modelling campaign. Look at the Jade Vessel blog...it was a group modelling project with a little gaming...Hammer, Northen and Migs nailed it imo because of that. I may be mistaken but I've not seen another group Imunda blog which has combined the story, the group modelling or battle reps. If Mig's ever gets to do a JV part two I hope he doesn't use the two new parts of his trilogy and all three of them start fresh projects for the extravaganza.
