Wow, predators used to look like that? Awesome! Everything's so bright... Did they call it "grim darkness" back then? Hehe I must say that the highlighting is rather crazy, but in a good way. They're fun to look at. Thanks for sharing!

Nice showcase of some classics there. Thanks for sharing. Personally i'm so glad that GW's overall staff and skills have improved though. A lot of the older stuff just looks laughable compared to the modern stuff.

Welcome to second edition!
I like the bright colours and use of yellow, My BA hark back to the 2nd ed colour schemes also. I really like your honour guard and DC.
More if you got them?

ahh, yes, 1st and 2nd edition... where everyone who wasn't rank and file had a giant banner sticking out of their backpack to prove it and dreadnoughts not known by such grimdark names as "furioso" and "ironclad" but instead used more friendly nicknames like "chuck" and "eddy"! cool paint job on some classic models.

The army I'm currently working on is DKOK, going for a nice dirty/dull finish for these as a nice change from these super-bright BA

Ah, I love nostalgia threads. The beauty of these models is that they're still game legal, even that dreadnought!

I like seeing older figures. I used to have that terminator captain, dont know what became of him though. My favorite work of yours is definately the Death company. I have never seen RT figs painted in those colors! Excellent work!

I'm guessing since the OP said they were in his cupboard for a while, he probably got them when they weren't "classic" but current models. some of us are actually old enough to be long fangs!

Quite - most of these were amongst the first models I bought back in the 80s when I was but a whippersnapper and GW seemed like a scary place full of old (to me) heavy metal fans
I've added a few "new" models where no old model existed, and have had to purchase a couple on eBay to round out my second tac squad to full strength.
Of course, I still regret selling all my other RT models, especially my orks.

Thanks for that, always enjoy seeing models of the kind I started with. Particularly enjoying the Death Company - such minor conversion for a great result, just a shame they didn't release that chainsword design at the time. Also liking the Rhino and Predator. Much as I like the current design, the original Rhino chassis is definately the "Model-T" of Astartes Armoured Vehicles warboss wrote:...some of us are actually old enough to be long fangs! I've been in this game so long, if I were a Space Marine I'd I refer to Dante as "Shiny Kid"

Awesome work, love to see Rogue Trader models in action. Especially the Predator, it looks so much better than the current one.
I also like the use of the Beakies as Death Company. : )
