Happy newyear to all Dakkites !
I'm happy to show you my latest project ; 40K Ogres !
Everytime I saw Ogryns in a 40K battle, I thought to myself ; "There should be an equally big and mean type of brutes for the Orks!"
When I saw the Ogres from WHFB and my bitsbox of 40K Orks, I had an idea.
Using armour plates and big shootas from the Deff Dread (two per box, I have two Dreads in total), the straps of Burna boyz (front) and green stuff (back), I was able to make some mean-looking Ogres that would look good in my Ork army.
I use camo green for flesh tone. When I FAP it, the result look very fleshlike and convincing. For the pants I use Catachan green and shoes Dark flesh. For weapons and armour I use Boltgun metal.
Hope you like it and please comment.

A wargamer should play for fun, not for winning. It's more fun losing a challenging game than to win one too easily.

hmmm, I would try to point the ears more and make the bottom half of the mouth jut out more if you want to make them more like orks but other than that nice job

I'm actually very impressed by that. Good job on the modeling and the painting.

I may have to pick up a box actually, they are just the right size for some of my more monstrous zorks.

Shrek with a machinegun. I like this.
He doesn't wear 6+ tshirt armour, but ogres have layers (damn I'm good)

Well the world isn't going to take over its' self now is it? And what kind of achievement will that be without fashionable henchmen? Normally this wouldn't have been a problem, but I had all my fashion designers executed.
Should anyone help design a new flashy uniform, I just might spare you on the day of judgement. MUHAHAHA!

Very nice.
Long ago in the dim distant past Orks could take a unit of Ogryn Mercs.

Pretty nice conversions. I've always wondered why Ogryns are on the IG side and not on the Ork side when there is definitely a greater resemblance.

That would be because in 40K, Ogryn are mutant humans... One of the few tolerated 'stable' mutations.

This is an insult for my Ogre army... which eat orks.

Though my orks seem to approve...

I think the head looks too human still. If you could do something about the hair and the jaw to make it look a bit more orky then it would help a lot.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

i agree the faces don't look ork enough, maybe you could make it look like they're primitive ogryns who'v painted them selves green...
or sculpt an ork nose, ears and jaw line onto them

I think it's a great job with the modeling and painting. I agree that the only thing I don't like is the faces. They just don't seem orky. I think if you replace the heads with regular Nob heads, it would look perfect. I may have to get myself some Ogres to convert into Ork Brutes. Great idea.
