I was rummaging through my bits box today, and in the process of gathering all the ork weapons and ammo (including bombs) I could to make a weapons dump, I made this

Alas poor Yorkick, I knew him well...

Reminds me of Genestealer Hamlet.

I believe I know what you are talking about. I had an extra ork layin' around, and I wanted to break up the monotony of building about 35 Space Wolves with some objective marker building.

I have recently been diagnosed with swelling in the brain, so please excuse spelling mistakes and faulty sentences. I am losing my ability to type and talk effectively, but dammit, that is not going to stop me from trying.

Now that you mention it, it could be a Nob's skull, and the boy was ambitious.

Very nice I did a similar conversion where the ork is holding his own head in this pose.

I could imagine an ork getting beheaded (and catching the head...somehow) and staring up at his headless body. 'Look at dis git. Doesn't even 'ave his 'ead on right!"

The knife was easy to do. Takes a minute tops. Cut the blade from the chainblade. Cut the blade from a knife. Glue blade on bottom of the handle. Viola!

Well, i will be building (the rest of) my Orks and painting them when i get back to Uni at the weekend (over the next few weeks, not all in one weekend ) And although i'm going to have to do something to make Nob Bikers look like Nob Bikers (any advice on that anyone? I was just going to use Nobs on the bikes, but will have to do some adjustments to get them on their really......) I will definitely try and add some more conversions in, otherwise they just wouldn't be Orks

With all the tribal Knives and such in the Space Wolves kit; I put bayonets and such one verything (or even put the knives stapped into my minis). Looks cool on most things... but out of place on a lascannon. Also, they're fragile, so they break off without you noticing (my carrying case is crap).

I think he just looks cooler with a choppa, but a slugga holstered would be cool.

Very nice. It looks a little bland on the paint... but I suck at painting, so I can't really talk. Maybe its the picture?

Someone needs to do an ork holding a human skull with a bionic eye and an officers cap.

Then we can call it "Alas poor Yarrick".

Oh its bland all right. Regular tofu bland. Brown and Green like the rest of my army.

Alas poor Yarrick would work phonetically, but I think that Ork Existentialism (or Tyranid!) would be better suited if its a skull of the same race.
I'm no English major, but I do know that Hamlet was contemplating both his mortality and the death of a friend. Needs to be a similar skull IMO.

Ahhh, but remember, Yarrick is respected by the Orks... he might be lamented, due to the loss of the toughest "'umie" around.

" 'Umies is soft, 'cept for dat Yarrick, now 'e knows how ter fight!"

Yes, but does it solve any Orkish existential quandaries? No, because Yarrick is human.
Not gonna make an Ork contemplate his own demise.

Besides, Yarrick? Given to gibes, gambols, songs, and flashes of merriment wont to set the table on a roar?
How abhorred in my imagination it is!
My gorge rises at it.

Go, get thee to Yaughan; fetch me a stoup of liquor.
(Oh wait.. now I remember.. I WAS an English major before I became a Law Wrangler.)

Thumbs, maybe you should try a bit of blood or fluid on the skull to lessen the bland-ness.
Or something.

Yes, except for the fact that Yorick had been in the grave since Hamlet was young. Tends to cut down on the gore?
Thats why I've got the "bland" bleached skull.

Maybe that link will help explain.
Anyway, I've got enough blood coated stuff. I have a set of rippers that I Primed bleached bone. Every time I cut myself with a hobby knife I rub the hopefully tiny speck of blood on the rippers to shade and color them.
