Well My Massive FW order arrived this week, including all 5 Berserker Ogryn's! I didnt intend on using the Berserker rules, just fielding them as awesome looking standard Ogryn's in my Traitor Guard force. I( eargerly began putting them all together and was up to my last one when the dreaded Curse of FW struck!

At first I just thought the mini just had a large amount of flash and very prominent mold lines but as I began to trim and scrape away i slowly realised this was not the case. In fact the whole left side of the mini had a complete miscast of the seam edges that ran from his shoulder down to his foot! now i could have tried filling it with GS but this would have meant resculpting all the detail on the arm and i had just spent quite a bit of money on the lot so i phoned FW and 10 minutes and a digicam pic later they agreed to send me a whole replacement model free pf charge!

This left me with the model i currently had and as my wife pointed out "its a free mini now why not just stick stuff over his arm to hide the mismatch?" and so off to my model table i scurried! Since none of the other Ogryn's had gun like weapons i decided he should make up for this by having a honking great Ripper Cannon! It was also the best choice for getting a decent looking pose for the mini too! 15 minutes later and lots of cutting and glueing there he stood, my Nasty big Ogryn ready to dish out loud firey death to anyone who stands in his way!

C&C welcome as always! ^_^

Wow, very nice (I also like not having to wait long to see results ).

The extra gubbins fit in with his look well and the gun itself looks great.

Now, go paint it!

Time to grab some green stuff to obfuscate that seam a bit.

Very nice save on that mini. But yea, you can just make out how bad that miscast was in the first pic.

Heres a tip for the young budding Ork player. If you want easy gubbins, just use gears, guitar string and a lighter striker. Presto

just after opinions but does he look different enough from the original?

I tried to change his outline and face shape so they wont look too identical next to each other in the unit ^_^

Different Eye, Hooogggeee Gun ! And his arm looks all veiny and messed up...

Sorry to say but...

I Love that Model. Screw the fact its a Miscast, you saved it and made it look pretty SWEET!

How does anyone know if a model is a bad guy? Top knots. I've always suspected they were evil. Now I'm sure.

Awesome save on the model, way to turn misfortune around!

I know its mad but he really pulls the squad together for me! they look so much better just for having one there with a gun! wont feel quite so silly fielding them as Ogryn's without guns now, he could shoot for the bloody lot of them!!! lol ^_^

Nice save.

Also a good example of the complete lack of quality control at Forgeworld. they could save a lot of money on replacement models if they just took a few minutes to inspect things before they pack and ship them.

Ive had about a 50/50 mix of good and bad from FW. Im thinking of ordering a few Tau battlesuits, a couple termies and maybe a large scale SM...but their sketchy quality makes me hesitant.

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes
Blackwater Gulch
X wing
Open to other games too

That is a really good conversion. Relatively simple but really effective.

@Mad4Minis - You have to remember though that quality control costs money. It might not take that much time for someone to check an individual piece, but at the scales that FW are probably working to it may well be cheaper not to bother as much and just send out replacement models. I guess not everyone who gets a dodgy bit will ask for a replacement, so they get counted as acceptable.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
