Those are actually pretty nice,I like the scheme and your painting is very good, nice job.
Also,I've got to get one of those lamps that you have pictured.

They look really good. When you take pictures try putting the mini on a white piece of paper, it will help with the photos

Well done! Your painting skills will improve, and from where you are stating you'll soon be working with more advanced techniques.
Your photography would improve quickly if you just set the model down. Don't hold the model. The upside is that if you ever needed any well-focused photos of your fingers, well, there you go!
All kidding aside, here's what worked for me with taking decent pictures. Experiment with this as you need, but here's the basics: Try setting the model on a pedestal (a paint pot will do), have some sort of non-reflective "backdrop" (paper works fine, a solid neutral color like black or white), make sure your model is facing your light source, set your camera on something steady, set your focus to "auto" and turn off your flash. Chances are all your photo problems will be solved. Check my gallery for examples if you'd like to see the results I got.
There's a lot of "how to" threads on Dakka re: photography, so if the above doesn't help you still have a lot of options.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work, great stuff you have here!

Good paint jobs!
Not the biggest fan of the paint scheme, but they look good in terms of the painting.

Excellent start!
I highlight my backpacks in a similar way. It's difficult to see detail, though.
Picture Advice:
Dakka Photography FAQ here.
Excellent tutorial here
Light tutorial here
* If you are using a digital camera, make sure you have the macro setting on. This is used to get better detail in close-up pictures.
* Place the camera on a tripod. If you don't have a tripod, put it on a book or something. When held in your hand, it will shake more. Books or a proper tripod will steady your hand.
* Use a back drop. Either a white sheet of paper or some colored paper. The paint pots and other stuff in the back ground can get distracting.
Good luck. Welcome to the hobby and the forums!
