As many of you may have noticed, the current Sisters of Battle range dates back to 2nd edition. This makes them the single most out of date arny (model wise) in the game and I think it's definatly time to fix that. Here's my attempt to get some more modern looking sisters.

What are the parts you used? They look familiar but I cant quite put my hand on it. Nonetheless good job, they look very much like SoB. However I think the cloak can use some work.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Sadly, I have little experience with sculpting so I agree with you about the robes. The torso, hips, and thighs are from a plastic Daemonette, knees, shins, and arms are new Dark Eldar warriors. The feet are from a Warmachine figure and the head is Hasslefree.

Looks great.
On a personal level I dislike the haircut she is sporting. Long bangs in the front with a shaved back and side are not how I envision my warrior women. I admit to being biased as I absolutely adore the bob cut hairstyle.
Other than that I do find that her back skirt does not seem to sit naturally. Could be the way the folds are designed, the angle of the pictures since photos lack depth, the thickness of the skirt, or my eyesight. My biggest issue is how the lower end curves back over her leg/ankle. It may sound goofy, but having someone model a folded blanket/towel around the waist or do so yourself in front of a mirror and snap off some pictures to use as reference. Add a floor fan to get that 'windy' look.
Overall, it looks great and is far better than what I have managed with my own Battle Sister project. The skirt has always been my hold up, but your design with it covering her waist and going around the front has given me new ideas. Thanks!

Agreed on the haircut. I would leave the hair longer in the back just seems conflicting to inject a lot of feminine features into the outfit but then to have a hairstyle like that.
Other than that I think this is an awesome model.

Very nice looking figure there, although I agree with the others that the cloth could use a bit of work. The sleeves look great, but the skirt's folds just look a bit wonky, especially in that last picture coming off of the hip. Fabric should fall into place, and there it looks like its arching over the leg. Definitely looking forward to seeing more though, it's a great start!

I like her hair so there If it helps I do intend to paint short/shaven hair on the back during the painting process, so she's not intended to be bald back there. I'm actualy trying to avoid the bob haircut at all costs because I'm trying to create a fresh look while keeping it recognizable as a battle sister. I definatly appreciate the criticism and totaly agree about the robes. I just don't have much experience with sculpting, and cloth is particularly difficult. I've torn off her robes and am giving it another go. Pics coming soon.

I disagree about the hair. It's very Joan of Arc. They are ecclesiastic, so maybe retaining that theme might work?

Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback, but I've reworked her a bit based on that feedback. Current WiP is here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/357229.page

Very nice one, the mini is suitably feminine for a sister of battle, unlike the.... one GW made
