I'm not sure what to make of this, but TTGN posted the following:

TTGN wrote:Updated list of OOP GW figures
A new list of figures have been marked as out-of-print by Games Workshop.

  • 46-25 Eldar Striking Scorpions
  • 46-27 Eldar Warp Spiders
  • 46-29 Eldar Rangers
  • 46-36 Eldar Warlock
  • 47-64 Techpriest Enginseer
  • 48-38 Space Marine Chaplain
  • 48-44 Space Marine Terminator Chaplain
  • 48-45 Space Marine Jump Pack Chaplain
  • 48-53 Space Marine Scout Sergeant Telion
  • 50-38 Orks In Mega Armour
  • 50-42 Ork Boss Snikrot
  • 55-12 Black Templars Chapter Upgrade
  • 85-43 Dark Elf Dreadlord
  • 95-11 Ogre Kingdoms Tyrant
  • L03-35 Saruman And Grima

  • As I said, I'm not qutie sure what to make of this. Are they going out of production? In some cases it could mean plastics are on the way (like for the Scorps or the MANZ), but in other places it would leave gaps in the line – no Enginseer, no Eldar Warlocks, no Chaplains (!) and even no Telion, and he’s not an old model.

Or are they going Direct Only?

Or could these minis be the first ones selected to be the first ‘wave’ of GW’s move from metal to resin (assuming that happens)?

Anyone got any more info on this?

  • That's plastic. And essential for my army (BT!) to be built.

Why the heck would they put it out of production? New codex on the way?

Also: No Termie Chaplain? That was a fething awesome model, too....

I hope that those are just going the Direct Only route (which wouldn't surprise me).

It would be really awful if this list was really out of production altogether. Besides, I thought the Termie Chaplain was an incredibly popular model. Why OOP it if it's making money?

Snikrot is a fairly recent model and popular with ork players.

It would seem more likely that it's direct order I think?

I don't see how they can nullify half of the Eldar Army like that, it doesn't make sense for OOP.

It has to be Direct Only.

It doesn't make much sense does it? Snikrot and Telion, two rather new miniatures... yet the oldest* model in the range (the Avatar of Khaine) remains. No sense at all.

It's gotto mean Direct Only right? Ignoring the resin thing (which is only a rumour), why would you stop selling all Marine Chaplains? Or MANZ? Or Enginseers? What alternatives to these models are out there and are also sold by GW?

It's got to mean Direct Only. I can't see them removing Enginseers, Telion, Chaplains, Techmarines, etc.

Smells like TTGN is getting wires crossed, or they're earmarked as 'temporarily out of print' while they redo the molds.

Snikrot is less than 18 months old if I remember right. Telion is right around that. Would be very weird if they took them out of production. Hopefully it is just like has been speculated that they're moving to Direct Only.

Hopefully direct only, they did this recently, too, I guess for the blisters.

But I know Ork players would like MANZ to be plastic, their prices ATM are horrific.

They are probably afraid online retailers are stealing all the action from their own website, despite the fact they do in fact suck at selling their own products online.

Yes, assuming that is that TTGN got their wires crossed and these are going Direct Only.

If TTGN is right about this when I don’t know what to think (other than I need to gets me some Enginseers before they vanish!).

It or the mold replacement is the only thing that makes any kind of sense.

Several of those items on the list are, as far as I know, still available for retailers to order. They're likely being removed from that list to the 'special order' list.

The Black Templars Upgrade Set, for example, is (according to my FLGS' rep at least) still available as 'general stock'...unlike the Dark Angels/Ravenwing equivalent, which was moved to Direct Only so they'd not need to continue producing boxes with fancypants artwork, etc.

If TTGN is right about this when I don’t know what to think (other than I need to gets me some Enginseers before they vanish!).

You mean you need to get some Inquisitors.

    Yes and no.

Many "Direct Only" items can be ordered within GW shops or FLGSes, but it's basically the same as if you ordered it directly from the website yourself.

  • Could these just be referring to the 2/3 model blister packs? That would make a little sense since there are box sets of these models too, but the rest make zero sense though.
