The Order of Faith embarks on a pilgrimage across the Imperium. Upon arrival at the shrine world Lucid Prime they come under attack by the Planetary Defense Force influenced by chaos.

At the behest of the Order of Faith, the infamous Flesh Tearers and the 38th Dusulla Armoured Company rushes to their ally’s aid. In no time at all the Imperial Guard tanks, supported by Sister’s mechanize infantry combined with the Marine’s surgical strike purges the cancer that infects Lucid Prime.

With the last of the traitorous scum slain, a thunderous cry of victory rings in the air. However, the Flesh Tearer’s bloodlust was unstated. Spurred by Flesh Tearer Reclusiarch Gendo’s blasphemous oratory, the rest of the Flesh Tearers turns on their erstwhile allies.

Caught by surprise, the rest of the Order of Faith and 38th Dusulla Armoured Company suffers casualties and is force to retreat back to Lucid Prime’s capital.

.....

“Impotent dogs!” spat Colonel Du’val, commander of the 38th Dusalla Armoured Company. “Those Flesh Tearers will pay for their treachery!”

“My sentiments exactly,” reply Dianus. “But worry not. I have already sent our request to my superior. Soon he will declare them Excommunicate Traitoris and there deaths will be sanction.”

Du’val nod approvingly. “By the way Canoness, how fairs your forces?”

Dianus body tense. “After battling the traitorous Planetary Defense Force and mutiny of the Flesh Tearers, my Sisters are at half strength,” she quietly reply.

“I’m sorry for your loss. Most of my men and tanks were far away from the front lines before all this happened. My forces are at ninety percent fighting strength,” Du’val solemnly replies.

“Commander!” interrupts the Colonel’s vox caster, “our sensors have picked up three fast moving objects flying form the South!”

Dianus snorts. “An alpha strike? That’s just like them. Mobilize all men and vehicles. My sisters take point. Today, we will have our retribution.”

jy2’s battle report featuring 10K Apocalypse - Blood Angels vs Witch Hunters/Imperial Guards: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/312586.page

.....

Canoness Dianus had underestimated the blood thirsty Flesh Tearers and now was paying for it. Small Sternguard and Vanguard squads deep strike into the heart of the Imperial forces, ensuing mayhem and chaos wherever they struck. To make matters worst, most of the Sisters were concentrated in the front, battling the lumbering Terminators. Without rear support, rest of the Imperial forces crumbled like a house of cards to the Flesh Tearer’s onslaught.

A large explosion knocks Dianus to the ground. Dianus stagger to her feat and look to the source. Assault Terminators had just smash through the mighty Shadow Sword “Vindicus” hull and the super heavy was about to have a critical meltdown.

“All forces, fall back!” command Dianus.

.....

Within the safe confines of her Immolator, Dianus assess her damage report. A reversal occurred over the hour-long conflict. Now only a handful of Sisters survive while the rest of Colonel Du’val and his men were annihilated. She and her remaining Sisters were on the run with the Flesh Tearers hot on their heels.

“How much longer until the drop ships arrive?” she ask.

“Estimated time till arrival fifty minutes,” reply a Celestian.

Dianus curse softly.

“We must hold them off until then.”

.....

Spoiler:
Game result: Draw

Afterthoughts:

Mid and early game I was losing. I somehow manage to squeak by with a draw. FNP Terminators and Assault Marines is beastly! Without an effective close combat unit, I heavily relied on my meltaguns and Exorcists. While they inflicted heavy casualties against the Assault Marines, they did very little against Terminator's Storm Shields. Fortunately I was able to tie up most of jy2's forces in combat and prevent him from reaching my corner objective. It's because of this game that I've switched over to Seraphims.

.....

“By the Blood Of Sanguinius, feel my wrath!” bellow Reclusiarch Gendo as he rocket into three Celestians. Gendo land on top of Sister Bella with a bone-sickening crunch and kill her instantly. Sister Lucia and Sister Superior Maria immediately whips out their bolters and fires point blank into the Reclusiarch. His power armour deflects all but one bullet, which shatters Gendo’s skull mask. Both Sisters gasp. Behind the mask reveals a deformed face with two horns and yellow reptilian eyes. “Demon!” both Sisters cried in unison.

“Tsk, I’ve finally been found. Now you both die,” sneer Gendo.

Gendo lunges at Sister Lucia, punching straight through her stomach with his Power Fist. In her last seconds of life, Lucia grabs hold of Gendo and wrestles him to the ground.

“Now Maria!” yells Lucia.

Sister Maria unsheathes her chain sword and switches it on. Gendo struggles to break free, but is pinned down by Lucia's death grasp.

“Well done Sister Lucia. May your soul join the emperor,” said Maria.

Lucia smiled before she close here eyes for the last time.

.....

After discovering Reclusiarch Gendo’s true identity, Sister Superior Maria immediately contacted Canoness Dianus, who at the time was in combat against Sergeant Koral, the Flesh Tearer’s second in command. Upon receiving the message, Koral agreed to a temporary cease-fire for further investigation. The Flesh Tearers were surprise and appalled to learn that all along, they had been deceived were following a Daemon. The Flesh Tearers agreed to full withdraw from Lucid Prime and submission to inquisitorial inquiry.

Good report, the more I see Immolator spam against MEQ, the more I think it is important to include standard Tri-Flamer squads of SoB in a list. It seems that getting those 15-16 Flamer hits with bolter fire are critical to thinning out the numbers enough to take them down.

Given the relative disparity in speed between the terminators and assault marines do you think you could have waited another turn to try to get some separation between the two? Jy2 may be too good to let that happen though.

One disadvantage for you is the table definitely had less los blocking cover than I would have liked.

Tri-Flamer works very well in lists with Seraphims because Seraphims can tie up the enemy unit after shooting. In Immolator Spam, it's ok to have just a Heavy Flamer because most of the time, only one model flamer model can shoot through the narrow gap between vehicles.

It's important to shoot the Terminators and Assault Marines first before they strike back.

One of the essential tactics on Immolator Spam is driving up, disembarking behind vehicles with a gap in between to allow Sisters to shoot, but not get assaulted by. It's difficult to do this against Assault Marines, who can easily hop over and assault from the rear. Normally I deploy my vehicles in a triangular fashion with Sisters in the middle so that they won't get assaulted from any direction. However, jy2 popped too many vehicles. I could only form a wall and space out my Sisters in a way to prevent the Assault Marines finding space to land 1" away from my models. However, jy2 just barely found enough space for his Reclusiarch to jump behind and assault my Battle Sisters. If it weren't for that, the Battle Sisters would have had another turn of shooting against the Assault Terminators.

Part of the fluff is missing from the post. Other than that, it is a great report! Thanks you.

Great game.

It's been a while, but I believe I had 2 lightning claws in each of the terminator squads (they were actually 1 10-man unit which combat-squadded). That was a hard-fought battle. Because of the way you placed your objective, I thought I had a very small chance of winning only.

And then I started wrecking/blowing up your vehicles. I did much better than average on the damage rolls (and also on the hit rolls), which was probably what made this game close. Otherwise, I think you would have easily won had I not been able to take out all those vehicles.

That rhino wall tactic of yours sure was sneaky. Against any other MEQ infantry, it works great....just not against jump infantry.

Yeah, you made a lot of saves on your Terminators. Your list also had a lot of anti-mech. I don't think I would have ever reached your objective intact.
