Subject: Modelling a Nurgle Rhino?

Screaming Banshee

Hey guys,
I wanted to do the standard swollen skin and pustules on the top of a Chaos Rhino.... but I want to still have the spikes on it.
Would glueing the spikes on and then pressing the Green Stuff through them (sorta impaling it on top) look alright? Like the spikes are bursting out the flesh? Or could that go a little awry?

That would look awesome and you could add tentacles coming out of the side door maybe, but I dunno whether that would fit for nurgle, sorry I don't know much about chaos but I still think it would look cool lol.

You could put the spikes on first then push greenstuff over the spikes to make it look like the spikes pushed through.
Also to make pock marks and buboues you can get a straw and put it into the greenstuff, then rotate it a bit but not so it cuts the gs fully out. It should leave a nice raise circular shape

Yeah I'm planning on having diseased skin on top, some chunks missing exposing flesh underneath (perhaps on corners, or just random shell holes), a diseased interior with flesh growing on the walls and the eye-catcher will be a Space Wolf being absorbed on the front... pretty much just modelling an SM torso with greenstuff overlapping it from the hull like it's been fed to the Rhino and is getting consumed

Sounds like a plan. Also on the back hatch you could model a piece of skin stretched over with screaming faces modelled into it

Thought about faces... I might do it on armour, but I think overdoing it is a tad too Tzeentchy

It'll work and Grandfather Nurgle will be pleased. Modelling putty is the Death Guards best friend after Devlan Mud.

A really funny but effective way my friend made his Rhino look swollen was that he accidently left it in his car over a day or so in the searing heat. The model was so bloated but so damn awesome.
It convinced him to do it to the other rhino's he had planned for his army! lol.

One thing that looks great is making a tentacle push a door and make one come out of the door aswell

I'm Probably a little late to the thread, but the pile of corpses piece from the WFB VC Corpse Cart fits really well over the top hatch of a Nurgle Rhino. I'm using it on one of my upcoming builds. I'm sure whatever you come up with will look great though. Good luck!

That's a pretty cool idea, VC bits in general would be nice; a pity I don't have any lying around :( Automatically Appended Next Post: I'm afraid that all I can offer myself are decaying Guardsmen

If you're interested you can check my "start to finish" conversion thread for a Nurgle Rhino. I like spikes.
