We have shown off a lot of stuff recently - but need to nail it down on a new set of ranges. So yeah, where would you like us to channel our time?!?!

I would say some necron bases, mainly because I want to see you guys do some crystals

Eldar would look good in the etched clear plastic, as would, to a certain extent, Tau (plus they both take advantage of nice curves in their designs).

Necrons would also do well as they are very tech and clear or tinted etched bases could look good.

I chose Chaos and Imperial, because I would like to see all the legions represented, and mostly because I would dig some cool World Eater/Khorne bases for my zerkers and dreads.

From a business point of view I agree with that majority that the chaos ones will appeal to the the biggest possible market (and I would probably be the easiest to do as the symbolism is already in place).

From a personal point of view you guys (in a very short time frame) have gained a reputation for thinking outside the box and creating some awesome stuff.

I voted "Other - Make my bases personal", I want to see what you guys can do when there as few restrictions as possible

Well here goes to my personal life! I've been sketching up some chaos symbols, but its hard to get reference images without stepping on GW's toes! Maybe by the end of the week we'll see some chaos looking bases!

Aaaah the dreaded IP problem, on second thoughts maybe this job might not be as simple as I may have first suggested

Mean looking fanged skulls would look Khorne-ish
Egyptian style hieroglyphics and scarabs seem to be a accepted substitute for Tzeentch
the problems will come from Slaanesh and Nurgle which have very strong imagery which is tied to their respective chaos symbol. This means they are going to be difficult to make without getting caught up in the IP issue.

Hope that makes sense or helps in some tiny way

The only things I can think of would be zombie style faces for Nurgle and sleek serpents/dragons (think H.R. Gieger) for Slaanesh

Nurgle themed bases should be easy. i hightly doubt that GW owns the IP of the image of a fly..

good point, I hadn't considered the fly emblem I was just thinking about the three circles logo, that only leaves Slaanesh to worry about

So how was your bank holiday Monday?! Mine went from a potential nice day off to a day sat in front of the puter drawing chaos stuff - a lot of chaos stuff!

I started off with a series of Chaos stars, something nice and generic that can be used for a range of bad guy's bases!

Overall for the bases, red gives an outline, a slight marking on the surface, black engraves about 0.5mm down, and white is untouched. Once a range has been made it was a case of swapping around the colours to get different effects on the layouts.

I went for a Khorne / Slaanesh side with the icons, as I'm going to begin a Bezerker themed army!

I found it hard to find reference material outside of games workshops own, so please, if you have any suggestions....fire them our way!

I hope to get these out in the next day or so so watch this space

Of the three lowest images, there is a variation of 128 individual bases!

Khorne can be represented as a skull with blood drops for eyes.

just had another thought about Slaaneshi stuff, how about making the bases look like the Noise Marine Vox Speakers

like on his backpack, obviously not identical to those but certinaly taking inspiration from them as not to get caught by IP issues
