Im writing a comprehensive eldar guide to talk through and explain all aspects of eldar gameplay.
It will be posted on dakka, and hopefully some high traffic blogs.
One section of the article will cover specific conpetitive eldar lists, the context they did well in, and how exactly they are played.
If you would like to contribute to the article, post your favorite competitive lists. Post what tournaments you won or did well in with the list. Then give a detailed description on how you use each unit in synergy. The more detailed the better.
I will cite your dakka name or whatever you want cited in the article.
Hopefully we can consolidate many types of eldar gameplay. Automatically Appended Next Post: Dont hold out on me lol

Farseer; Doom; Guide; Spirit Stones; Runes of Witnessing

Fire prism; Holo-fields; Spirit Stones
Fire Prism @ 160
Fire prism; Holo-fields; Spirit Stones
The seer's go in the dire avenger wave serpents. They One of Farseers Guide's a fire prism, while the other 2 link.
The other farseers there to guide his own squad, or guide a fire prism if the other seer can't.
Fire dragons go roast a tank. Then Exarch goes of and flames something with his TL Heavy flamer.
The dire avengers are a counter assault unit, that blade-storms anything that comes near. Guide+Doom=WIN!
I normally deploy in a castle, so that Wave serpents cover everything. Prism's at the back. Dragons wave serpent Flat-out on first turn, Or if they are being aggressive, try and pop the aggressive tanks turn 1. The missle launchers kill tanks as No.1 priority.
Anything that gets near the castle, gets Guide+doom+Bladestormed. They die horribly, prisms are safe.

Duel seer of a different kind:
Jetseers 1500 points
HQ:
Farseer 130 Points
(Eldar Jetbike, Runes of Warding, Fortune)
-Warlocks x7 340 Points
(Eldar jetbikesx7, Enhance, Embolden x2)
Farseer 125 Points
(Eldar Jetbike, Runes of Witnessing, Fortune)
-Warlocks x7 335 Points
(Eldar jetbikesx7, Enhance, Embolden)
Troops:
Dire Avengers x5 60 points
Dire Avengers x5 60 points
Guardian Jetbikers x3 66 points
Heavy Support:
Falcon 190 points
(Bright Lance, Holo-fields, Spirit stones)
Falcon 190 points
(Bright Lance, Holo-fields, Spirit stones)
Total: 1496 points
I'm not an expert with this list, only used it at one tournament, did fairly well with it.
Seer Councils kill things.... Guardian jetbikers in reserve turbo boost onto objectives, if kill points just hide as far away as possible. Falcons try to take out tanks/MC with Lance and Pulsar. And Dire Avengers wait in Falcons to try and get objectives late in the game. Falcons need to keep moving 6" or more if they can't shoot.
With the Seer Council, you need to try and get multi-assaults. The main two drawbacks with the seers is no power weapons, and no fortune if going second. When Fortuned they are very hard to kill, so if you multi-assault even CC orientated units you have a good chance of victory in the end. They can kill tanks well, if your Falcons aren't having any luck doing so.

A walking castle. Guardians go in front, With the Wraithguard after (Eldrad goes here) And wraithlord last. Everything has a cover save. Eldrad casts Fortune on the Avatar and his Wraithguard. He then Cast's Guide on the Missile launcher Wraithlord. (Avatar Goes behind Wraithguard) The 10 man guardian Squads Deploy in cover and Pop tanks, While trying not to be Threatening.
The Wraithlords Pop transports, Hence the reason for giving them scatter lasers.
Does not do well in tournaments Because Dark eldar own it. (poison)

Holy Crap at these lists! Woodbok's walking castle looks like a lot of fun, despite its susceptibility to insta-wounds and force weapons.
Also Double Seer Council on bikes is awesome at 1500.
Here's my not so impressive 1,500; but I've only recently started playing eldar, and made this bizarre list to take on a cadre of very defensive players. It's actually supposed to be 1,850; but it's even less interesting there. Just thought I'd throw it in because no one else seems to like shining spears.
Bike Council - 400
1 seer, Fortune
5 warlocks - Conceal, Enhance, Embolden, Singing Spears
Shining Spears 167
4x + exarch w/Star Lance

My Jetdar list.

Guardian jetbikes @ 156
5 Guardian jetbikes; 2 Shruiken cannons
Warlock @ 48
Warlock; Eldar Jetbike; Singing spear; Embolden
Guardian Jetbikes @ 76
4 Guardian Jetbikes; 1 Shruiken cannon
The Massive seer Councils will try and get a turn 1 charge. If it's obvious there not, then Turbo-boost.
Runes of witnessing is there because You need to cast fortune. These units do not die when fortune is on them.
The small jetbike Squad gets held in reserve, it survives a bit longer. Turbo-boost last turn with it.
The bigger jetbike squads go behind the seer councils, so that they don't die since people are going to try and kill the councils. They try and kill Transports, since S.6 can blow them up, as can the singing spear. You can also to jump kill jump, Similar to JSJ. Put big jetbike squads in front, and shoot tanks with spear and cannons. Councils them assault over you, and you jump behind. Safe, and kills stuff.

Everything goes in reserve. And on turn 2, Everything comes on on the roll of a 2+. Autarchs go in DA Serpents. Each one of those is throwing out 7 Strength 6 shots a turn, 4 of which are TL. They kill Transports first, and when foot troops come near you get out and nail him. Fire dragons kill Heavy tanks, as normal. The prisms kill Transports first, then foot troops.
This is An amazing example of an alpha strike. Everything comes on 6 and shoots the Crap out of stuff. Dragons flat-out, or if enemy is close go and melt him.
This does really well in Tournaments, Because I've got 9 AV12 Vehicles,. which are hard to kill. And I've got the fire power to put lots of other armies to shame.
EDIT: This list, and all the others i've posted along with others to come are 1750. Reason being is because GT is held at 1750, and These lists have been used at GT. (Yes, I used my walking castle at Tournaments)

Dual Scatters x3
Total: 2000
The tournament I won consisted of 5 matches with a ladder system. So if you were currently first, you'd play the person in second and if you were third you'd play the person in fourth and so on (unless you'd already played that person, in which case it was shuffled round a bit). It was the under 18s division so that does not by any means mean that I'm the best at my FLGS, there are much better players than me there, they're just not under 18. And it was a close run thing too, I only won by 1 point. A very enjoyable weekend of gaming though

Heres a list I did really well with a couple of weeks ago.
1500 pts
Eldrad
Prince Yriel
5 jetlocks w/embolden and enhance
Dire avengers x5
Dire avengers x5 wave serpent tl eml ss star engines
9x Jetbikes 3 shuricannons, warlock w/ spear and embolden
2x vyper 2x scatter laser/ shuricannons
Falcon scatterlasers , shuricannon , holofield, ss, star engines
Definally off the beaten path here to be competetive but I used this list to great effect at a tourny a couple weeks ago.
Warlocks fly with the falcon that eldrad sits in ( got this from a post from smitty i believe !) guiding fortuning and dooming as needed as well as giving my falcon a mobile cover save . Yriel was my choice for killing a whole blood angel assault squad/ libby w/honor guard and a whole group of necron warriors single handely with his eye of wraith very nice! His master strategist and his power weapon singing spear are nice too. The jetbikes also offer anti infantry with my vipers . The whole army moves like a swarm of flies picking off one or two units at a time with all the strengh 6 shots .

ElMG has a pretty standard mechdar list. Cool stuff.
Eldar own why arnt your banshees in a transport? Starcannons are weird lol. Dark reapers are interesting as well. I think ur list has room for improvement, but grats on the success.
Eyes very cool list. Interesting to see someone run a council with farseer in transport. Thats an idea I had but never tested. Overall I dont think ur list is optomized but its a really cool list and im glad your having success as eldar!
Thanks for the posts, really glad to see diversified lists doing well.

Yea the bike council pretty much went down every game and gave me mixed results , I dont think I will run them like that again. I haven't ran a footcouncil yet so ill have to play around with it a bit more. Eldrad, warlocks and Yriel go in a wave serpent. Eldrad fortunes them, and does some other powers. They go kill stuff, since thats over 700 points in one unit + Transports. They will draw fire, but that's OK you want them to. The DA go in the Falcons, since they are hard to kill. If you go first, then you might want to guide these 2 beasts. FD Go melt Transports, NOT Heavy tanks. That's what your council of doom is for.
Jetbikes go in reserve, for last turn objective grabbing.

My 1850pt list I use most of the time is:
Farseer, Doom, Guide, Warding, Spirit Stones
Autarch with Fusion Gun
5 Fire Dragons
Wave Serpent with T/L Scatter Lasers and Spirit Stones
2 x 5 Harlies, 2 Fusion Pistols, 4 Kisses
2 x 5 Dire Avengers
2 x Wave Serpent with T/L Scatter Lasers and Spirit Stones
10 Storm Guardians, 2 Flamers and Warlock with Destructor
Wave Serpent with T/L Bright Lance and Spirit Stones
Vyper with Scatter Laser
2 x Falcon with Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon, Holo-fields and Spirit Stones
Fire Prism
I've been using this list in all the tournaments I've been to this year, done pretty well with it. Lost on table 1 in round 6 in one of them and was top 10 in another.
Contrary to what many people assume when they first see the list the Harlies do NOT go in the Falcons. Both the Avenger units start in the Falcons and the Harlies steal the Avenger Serpents (Falcons = backfield units, Serpents = midfield units). Started using the Harlies because I found I was using Dragons to kill Rhinos half the time and you don't need 5 Meltaguns to do that, so you might as well add some combat punch and general flexibility. They are particularly fun because of Hit and Run, which means they can jump out of combat and chase another tank if they survive a turn.
However I'm planning on phasing this out because it really struggles against AV12 lists which are showing up more and more. Guard I can deal with because I can get to the side armour, but Grey Knights and other Dread heavy lists are almost impossible to deal with with S6 shooting. You can easily tweak it by say dropping the Vyper to upgrade some things to EML, but I don't think it ends up with enough threatening stuff (particularly S6 torrent ability) to make an all comers list. Now I'm mostly working on my Dark Eldar for competitive games and experimenting with some more unusual/extreme builds for Eldar.
My planned 2000pt list (for upcoming tournaments if I end up using my Eldar) which I'm working on getting the models for is roughly:
Farseer, Doom, Guide, Warding
Autarch, Fusion Gun
2 x 5 Dragons in Serpents
3 x 5 Avengers in Falcons with EML and Holo-fields
3 x 3 Vypers with Scatter Lasers and Shuriken Cannons
Either the Vypers give the Falcons cover, which means they tend to live the entire game because Holo-Field Falcons are already almost impossible to kill, or the Falcons give the Vypers cover to keep the S6 torrent going longer. Falcons give me some more S8 shooting from range and you still have Dragons for the real heavy stuff.

This was my Eldar list when I played Eldar until Nov last year:
HQ
Farseer - spirit stones, runes of warding, doom & guide
Farseer - spirit stones, doom & guide
Elite
5 x Fire Dragons w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ eldar missile launcher & shuriken cannon
5 x Fire Dragons w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ eldar missile launcher & shuriken cannon
5 x Fire Dragons w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ eldar missile launcher & shuriken cannon
Troops
10 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ eldar msisile launcher & shuriken cannon
10 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ eldar msisile launcher & shuriken cannon
10 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ eldar msisile launcher & shuriken cannon
6 x Guardian Jetbikes - 2 x shuriken cannons
Heavy Support
Fire Prism
Fire Prism
Played with that list for about a year, did ok and wasn't too bad. If I was to change anything now I'd drop doom from both Farseers and spirit stones and reduce all Avenger squads to 5 man. Then I'd spend the rest of those points on more Avenger-Serpents.
My mate Metallicarule on here uses the below list which I wrote for him and he has tuned:
HQ
Farseer - guide & runes of warding
Farseer - guide
Elite
5 x Fire Dragons w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ twin-linked shuriken cannons & shuriken cannon
5 x Fire Dragons w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ twin-linked shuriken cannons & shuriken cannon
5 x Fire Dragons w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ twin-linked shuriken cannons & shuriken cannon
Troops
5 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ twin-linked shuriken cannon & shuriken cannon
5 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ twin-linked shuriken cannon & shuriken cannon
5 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ twin-linked shuriken cannon & shuriken cannon
5 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent - Serpent w/ twin-linked shuriken cannon & shuriken cannon
Heavy Support
3 x War Walkers - 3 x eldar missile launchers
3 x War Walkers - 3 x eldar missile launchers
3 x War Walkers - 3 x eldar missile launchers
Both lists are 2,000 points btw.

Stick the farseer in one squad of Guardians. He guides the Scatter laser Walkers. They don't move for most of the game. The Rest of the guardians deploy in front. Harlequins act as a counter-charge. Missile walkers take out Transports/Medium tanks. Bright lances for Land raiders/ Medium tanks.
Tried it in a Tournament. The little mobility puts you down a lot, so I advise Against taking this list.
oh and BTW, When is the article being made?

thanks for posting!
keep em comming!
Also my rule for War Walkers, as the guide will mention, is that if you bring more than 3 walkers you need eldrad, because guide and fortune is lol hilarious.
