So here are my Guardsmen so far. There're more on the way, and I'm currently about to start painting my Leman Russ Exec'. I have some objectives on their way but that's a story for another thread. There's a prize to the first person who spots the celebrity in their ranks.

I have plans for this one... No... These plans shall not pass.

I did expect Gandalf would get the attention though. But for you Bokchoy, he's currrently a Primaris Psyker/Priest, depending on what I want done, so I think that these two roles fit in with his fluff somewhat.

I know that the Priest is a bit of a demotion for him, but the special rules they come out with would indicate his leadership qualities from LoTR in making his allies fight harder. As a Primaris Psyker, it's kind of obvious why I choose that role.

What you need to add now is a bodyguard compliment of "ratling" snipers using Frodo and friends.

Heh, the Gandalf conversion's fun, though you may want to stick an aquila or a few purity seals to his staff to make it more 40k...and a tad less like a random stick. I'm using Sharky-Saruman-from the Scouring of the Shire expansion as mine (Grima's one of the members of my sub-feral psycher batter squad).^^

What are you doing by ways of insignia? They look a bit like one of the old White Dwarf showcase armies, the Macharian 7th or something as I recall, though the full on relegious loons look of said regiment may not fit well with the more gruff soldier look you've gone for...though a mad git with a big book and purity seals for clothes wouldn't go amiss. =)

Hm. Good point. I'll see what I can do about the purity seals. His hat will need one.

I haven't quite decided on the regimental insignia yet, but I'm angling towards a cannon in front of a bell emblem. I got the idea from Tsar Cannon and Tsar Bell I once saw in the Kremlin years ago. Obviously it has a skull or forty.

Now Gandalf has learn the proper way of killing orcs and goblins.

1. Is this regiment raised on medieval world? (and gets equipment imported off-world)
2. What is the role of the "Empire Wiz"? Priest or Psyker?
3. Paintscheme is purely based on Wehrmacht.

1. A Renaissance World (if you can call it that). It recently came into the Imperium again and has quickly adopted its many customs and tech into its own. I should point out that the building I used is actually from my local GW. It was the only grass board out at the time and I didn't want to match the bases to a grey moonscape, especially when there's grass on them. But the background (storywise) was decided before the photos were even conceived of.

2. I've mentioned his role above, so if you'd like to peruse up there...

3. It is, yeah. No points for spotting it though. I wanted a good colour scheme that looked good on Guardsmen that wasn't mainly a green or brown etc. but was striking in its own way. I will be changing the scheme slightly from platoon to platoon by changing the red trim to a blue trim, then to a yellow trim and then a green trim and so on and so on until I run out of rainbow. The flag in the PCS will change to follow this regimen too.

Haha wow! Gandalf fits in so well that it's just awesome. He even has a little laspistol holdster!

Damn that conversion is good. Now I'm going to have to make my own!
