Hello everyone,
I have been working on this Stompa since December. Due to being away at college I had little time to really sit down and give the stompa the dedication it required. Anywho, here are some final pics of the stompa, in all its glory!
The arms, head, and ammo case are all magnetized for easier storage etc.
If you have any questin son the whole process, I have a WIP going here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/336087.page
In total
Back
Overhead view
Head
Arms
And here are the grots and other various little decorations!
To add insult to injury
And a grot sniper just in case...
I hope you like the pics! Any comments and questions are appreciated.

I know what you mean. The stompa can be pretty daunting at times. Although it has motivated me to finish my other easy models... like my 35 or so unpainted shoota boyz :/
Also, the stompa arms keep falling off if it gets bumbed etc bc the arms are so awkwardly weighted and the magnets are having difficulty. The missiles break off almost every time. You think I should just pin them or something?

Thanks everyone!
I actually got to use him today
He did about what I expected but I messed up the rules for the supa gattla so it was less than effective
He did blow up a sister of battle rhino, shot multiple wounds off a daemon prince, blew up a rhino with the grot supa rokkits, smashed the daemon prince in close combat with his chainsword arm, and blew up a squad of crazy dudes with chainfists (not sure. they are in sisters of battle. They all have giant two handed chainswords). I was still new to the rules so I wasn' trying to be too fancy. Anywho...

I like the front of the stompa but it looks abit monotone on the back and top , you could try picking out the bolts with a brighter metal colour.

Haha that was the MAIN reason I used that grot haha. I originally though the was giving the baddies the middle finger but he's just pointing. I wanted a little more flavor
Actually, in my last game he got to flip off a Daemon Prince as the stompa crushed him with the chainfist

How many Space Marines does it take to screw in a lightbulb.
6, 1 techpriest and 5 tacticals that stand around trying to pose like badasses.
An Ork, Space Marine and Eldar are walking down the road. They see a Chaos portal that has a sign on it. It says: 'say what is true or be sucked in'. The Space Marine says: "I think I'm the bravest" and walks past safely, the Eldar says: "I think I'm the most agile" and walks past safely. The Ork says: "Me thinks..." and gets sucked into the portal.

Love the grots. Less enamored with the roughly monochromatic back and the gradient-like flames in front, but it's solid work, all around.

Hey everyone. Sorry it took a while to respond. College and such. I am glad this has inspired so many people to get their Stompa started/finished. I will hopefully be adding in soem HD pics (I got a new iphone with HD camera) so the focus will be better and you can see a little more detail.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Gutsnagga wrote:Hi, I was wondering if you could post pictures of the magnets you used and where you put them, as I am currently trying to magnetize my own stompa, and am looking for the best method.
I apologize I did not see this request sooner. I was home and totally could have taken some pics for you. I am away at college and away from the precious Stompa, btu as soon as I get the chance I will try and post some pics. If it is at all helpful I will describe the process and location.
Arms:
I placed three magnets in a triangle formation around the arm socket/hole on the body of the Stompa. I chose the largest diameter magnets I could find. They are tricky to fit in (be VERY careful as they can easily fall into the stompa and become impossible to recover). I used a paper clip to magnetize them to while the glue dried, ensuring that they stayed in place and didn't flip etc.
Later I foudnt hat due to the lopsided/weighing of the arms, that they would fall off if bumped slightly. To remedy this I took a 2 insh (or so) piece of paper clip and bent it into an 'L' shape. I pinned this L into the arm of the stompa, where it sockets into the body, creating a sort of "catch" in case the arm fell off. It happens frequently, but the catch works without fail. If the arm needs to be removed, simply pull the arm off straight and then twist so that the L comes free from the body. Good for transportation and good for ensuring the arms don't all off. It's a win win. A bit crude but it works. I will post pics ASAP.
Head:
This is pretty easy. I used a flat magnet and hollowed out a nook in the bowl shaped neck of the stompa body and the bump on the head that inserts in. The magets rest on top of each other, allowing for the head to be removed (in cause of death or transportation). It also lets you turn the Stompa head for poses etc (which is fun).
I thought about magnetizing the grots in order to represent vehicle damage points or something but it just wasn't worth the effort. I would also recommend pinning the missiles into the side of the gun, as they are held on by a very small surface area contacts with the 'drum' of the undeside of the main cannon. If they fall off or are bumped etc then they can fall off. It's always your call though.
Hope that helps!
-WAAGH!
