Hello,
In my army list I have all my sternguard equipped with combi-meltas but the kit only comes with one. How could I get more, or how can I convert some regular bolters into Combi-weapons? Also, are veterans modles any different then regular space marines? I was wondering because if there not I can just equip some of my tacticals with combi-weapons instead of buying more sternguard kits.

You can buy them as single bitz on any of the many bitz stores online.

When i made my 10 man sternguard squad i used the 5 metal sternguard straight out of the box (1 with combi-melta). I then converted 5 from regular marine parts from the battle force along with the two combi-weapons from the space marine commander sprue, and the combi-plasma from the sternguard set. Thats an easy place to start if you dont mind combi-weapons held in a single hand. You can then use the other hand for a grenade hand or I assembled one also holding a bolt pistol (as stenguard have both boltgun and bolt pistol on their profile).

Chapterhouse Studios makes a Combi-Anything kit you can get for... 10 bucks for 5 I think? Way cheaper than Bitz sellers.

Looks like the chapterhouse kit is 5 bucks for 1 main "bolter" with 4 combi attachments and magnets to hold it all together: http://chapterhousestudios.com/webshop/component/virtuemart/?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=82&category_id=24

Depending on what you're looking for, seems like it's an okay to great deal. If you only want combi-meltas, it's not too much cheaper than a bit site. If you're looking for a variety and are willing to chop up some standard bolters, it can come out cheaper.

For 8 bucks, you can get 5 meltaguns from GW online to chop up and tack on to bolters.

Chop up 2 bolters, and glue them together. Chop off the end of a Multi-Melta and split that in half. Glue that to the chopped up bolter.
Its not as elegant as the modeled combi-whatever...but they are inexpensive and everyone has extra bolters laying around.

If your fine with the weapon of choice being on top you can just shave off the sight of the bolter and put the top part of a plasma pistol on it for a combi-plasma. For a combi- melta just get the 5 metal Melta Guns from GW for $8 or so and just clip off the tubing on the bottom and do the same as the combi-plasmas.

Yet you could also just saw off the front part of the melta gun and just re-position the bolter barrel and your golden.

Hope this helps.

I know that these arent combi-meltas but the way i made these could be used to create combi-melta you need, this is just more food for thought if you want to try and convert them.

The Manufactorum terrian kit has nozzles that make perfect melta barrels you can attach to a bolter.

I've heard of people replacing a barrel of a stormbolter with a melta/flamer/plasma barrel in order to make combi-weapons. Sounds like an interesting idea.

I've got a completely untested design up on Shapeways that's kinda similar. Working on getting it molded up myself at some point.

I have that chapterhouse kit laying in my bits box. I ordered like five of them. They don't cut it in my opinion because of scale, they just look too tiny once you get them in hand
