Started work on a Grot tank company. I'm building two squads of Leman Russ tanks, some mechanized HQ and Veterans and then some hydra flak tanks.

I'm going to run it as an imperial guard army, they are grots that see the Humans as the good guys in this dark time and wish to be more like them... so they steal equipment and copy their tactics and try to act more like them... but every time the try to meet them they get attacked and forced to destroy them

Very nice, my only MEHH thing is the gretchin on Imp Guard bodies, I am not a fan of that. I am EXTREMELY jealous of the fact that you have grot tanks and I don't.

Excellent builds. They are very well executed. Only problems I see is the size of them. With the RAW, using them as Leman Russes, the size is very much in your favor. I can see it causing problems for some people...

Cool models... bad 'counts as' Iguard. You would have been better looting imperial stuff or making imperial sized stuff.

I would have a hard time playing against something so small and accepting the armor values...

Well to deal with that issue i will be cutting bases that are the exact size of the Leman Russ and Chimera, and then with the basing i will have the tank match the highest point of either.

But the count'as can bring trouble... Well sized bases(what about scenic bases) with clear ways to "see" the reall size of the tank can make it work..

Its a brilliant idea, and well executed on the conversion side. As long as you have the bases that match the dimensions of the Russ and Chimera hulls, then i dont see many people pitching too big of a fit to play against it.

scratch built grot-russes and grot chimeras would have been cool although these models do look extreamly good I hope you don't run up against to many killjoys in your gaming.

Thanks for the input guys, i know the idea still needs some fleshing out and what not and it will take some testing and reworking but hopefully it will eventually workout pretty well. and I know i will run into some killjoys here or there but you cant really avoid those people and if they really have a problem with it then i suppose they just don't have to play me.

That being said i will try to do as much as i can to minimize the things that can be complained about.

These do look great, but as others have said size will be an issue, however i'll hold my final judgement until i see the bases
