Just got into Warmachine a few days ago and picked up Beast 09 from my FLGS. Decided to go for a green Khador theme. I still need to base the model.

I really like the green with the weathering.

I find your lack of completed bases... Disturbing.

But other then that, nice model. It's infinitely better then my Khador Warjacks.

Once the base is done it will finish off a very nice model. I would just be careful as to the coluors you use for basing. If you go with green make sure it contrasts against the green on the model, otherwise it will not frame it and finish it off well enough. Look forward to seeing it.

If your going to do something wrong, do it right!!!!

Thanks guys . Yeah I'm not 100% sure how I am going to do the bases on my models yet. I am thinking that wet mud stuff with some rubble/barbed wire/sand bags. To give it the feel that it is still on the battlefield.

Your paint job is really good! I just can't get over how stupid some of the PP models look...

@djphranq- Cheers man! I don't think praise can get much higher than that

@Xenocidal Maniac- Thanks! The way the models look (or at least some of them) was what really kept me out of warmachine for a very long time but they have started to grow on me. (well at least khador) After watching so many battle reports though I had to finally give the game a try and I got hooked

I felt I rushed when I did the weathering. So I went back and re did it all. I present Best 09 MKII.

C&C Always welcomed!

The weathering before was pretty neat for brand new battle damage. It now looks like you left the thing out in the rain after a battle The only thing that might make it better would be little trails of rust smudging leading down from the more havily weathered parts, but it looks pretty damn good as it is.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I think that the new weathering makes it look much better. The bare metal weathering in the original pictures looked more (to me) like you had handled the model too much and worn the paint off (which I suppose is it's own weathering). The brown separating the green and the silver increases the "reality" of it.

Try mixing the two, first lay down the brown, then go over it with the metal leaving a bit of an edge.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

@ Flinty: Cheers. Yea I do think i need to add more rust trails.

@Iskandur: Thanks. I did first weathering in about 10mins. It was after I had spent hours priming/painting the model and I got lazy and rushed the weathering. I'm glad I went back and redid it.

@Ravenous D: I did a test with two tones of brown and one with brown silver. I found the brown silver combo almost looked like a weird camo pattern of sorts. I do want to go back and add a few more dabs of silver on a few of the egges.
