Hello Dakka!

Ive just moved to Bristol to start Uni, so i felt it was time for a fresh start gaming wise, and i was enamoured with Infinity. This will be a documentation of my experimentations with the game, and the Yu-Jing faction.

I bought these from Alex Kolodotschko's shop, Cut and Thrust Wargaming, in Bristol.

If anyone has any suggestions for colour schemes or something feel free, i was thinking possibly a turquoise, but im not sure.

More when i get time to do some..

Awesome! Definitely looking forward to this. Yu-Jing also caught my eye (are they the ones with the Ninja-troopers- the ones named "Ninja"?) but no plans to start, unless I just paint a team for fun... After the 1K sons, WHQ minis, =I= Munda team... yep... that'll be in the next 2 years.

Anywho, how big is a team? Or army? Haven't researched the game system much... but love the minis. Looking forward to what you can pull off.

Hey congrats on getting in to Bristol! I originally studied Pathology and Microbiology there before I decided I preferred playing around with pens and stuff and went off to do foundation art! Good times though, Bristol's a brilliant place.

There's a guy on the official Infinity forum who's done his Nomads in shades of grey and they look pretty slick, I've been trying something similar for my Yu Jing and it works well for the model style.

It's here http://www.infinitythegame.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3824

Yeah, theyre the Asian inspired ones. (Though, to be fair, the entire game is very anime/manga styled)

Im not sure i know tbh Remi! Ive had a quick browse of the Rules but not a full read. Afaik, its quite small, maybe 10-20 models in a decent sized game.

@WarMill: yeah its been ace so far, no sleep and too much alcohol makes for a fun freshers 2 weeks! Wow, that scheme is sick, thanks for the link!!

One of my fondest memories is coming out a lecture at 9:40 in the morning, heading in to the Wetherspoons at the top of Park Street and ordering an absinthe for my mate's birthday. That pub is very well placed

This looks interesting, have been wanting to dapple into Infinity myself for sometime. Let's see if you can push me over the curb for starting a small Pan-O force.

Cheers Metsuri, its certainly cool from what i can see.

Okay, so i did a bit of work today, namely sorting out the bases for two of the Zhanshi. I have to say though, that im not too much of a fan of the faces, so have press moulded the faces of a Damaru and Shang-Ji to use as gasmasks. Should look pretty cool hopefully

Been watching Ghost In The Shell to get into the scifi mind set. Still open to any colour scheme ideas, im warming to the yellow though.

Thanks for looking,

Vitruvian

Yellow with dark gray or black would work well. I have been thinking about a doing the armor plates with burnt orange and cloth with black on the Nomad Hellcat fig that I have on the self, basically similar idea as neil was offering. It is simple but effective combination and would work in the spirit of the game.

Yeah, i think i'll definitely do a test paint on the yellow black/grey combo.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Ok, put mask on all 3 of the Zhanshi now. Looks a bit strange, but hopefully paint will even it out.

Hey all, been really swamped what with starting uni and lots of drinkind

However, i did manage to get some work done on my Yu Jing.

I undercoated the 2 built Zhanshi, and finished the 3rd. Also built a Shang Ji. I realised that i was falling into my usual trap of industrialised grimdark ruins whilst i was basing them, which isnt Infinity imo. So i had a look at the artwork and gave the new bases a new future anime twist, which i will sontinue throughout the rest of the force. Anyway pics:

Oh, and i got carried away as always and ordered this lot

Thanks for looking,

Paint started, went with a grey armour, sort of NMM, basically just grey highlighted properly!

In ur base, sniping ur doodz

That looks really good, but I would caution you about NMM for a whole army. Granted, the army will be smaller than a 40K or Fantasy army, but that doesn't mean it won't get tiring.
Maybe that is just me. But I digress. Your models look great, the bases are sweet, and I don't blame you for buying more stuff. It's just so AWESOME! (and cheap)
Keep it up bro,

@Aquaterry: Cheers, i agree with you, however its not really NMM, this probably took about 3 hours. Im enjoying actually being able to paint properly, which is impossible to do in larger scale games. I got into Warmahordes for much the same reason, but that spiralled into a large collection of minis that arent painted!

@Tom: Cheers bud! Now when do we see Dantenator...

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Wow, first of all some great work so far!

Great to see another Infinity blog - I thought mine was the only one, so perhaps we should support each other? http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/396797.page

I'm currently collecting a couple of factions (Haqqislam and Nomads), with a 3rd planned! One of the great things about Infinity, the low price point makes such a thing straightforward. Totally agree with you re. the amount of attention it's possible to lavish on each model, definitely a joy after having to production-line hordes of almost identical models!

I also used to go to University in Bristol some years ago (although the other one ), wonderful city and really enjoyed my time there. Great to hear that a new store has opened, next time I am in the city I will be sure to check it out.

Love the work you have done with the masks and detail on the bases, will definitely be looking forward to new posts on this blog.

LOL... not you too... I'm afraid I'll start caving in too... seeing Sigur/Pacific/Vits... now yours... dammit... my willpower... isn't... that... strong!

Hey Vit, do you think we could get a sharp close-up of the masks you moulded? They look pretty good, but I'd like a close-up to see some of the detailing, if possible! Keep it up, man- I think the scheme you got is great... and while you're at it, make a Tachikoma... they just "fit" in this universe...

@Izanagi: Come to the sci-fi anime side.... Umm i tried to get a pic, when ones painted ill get a better shot

A Tachikoma might just have to get created, ill have a look at what i can proxy it as Yu Jing wise..

Thanks for looking guys

Stuck all my stuff together, this is what i have so far (minus the Su Jian robot):

It goes, from left to right....

Top: Hac Tao (ML), Wu Ming (Boarding Shotty), Shang Ji (Combi rifle + light flamer), Domaru (Boarding Shotty), Pheasant Rank Imperial Agent (Combi rifle and E/mitter), Ninja Hacker (Omg to the model )
