Alright, thanks to some very Russian looking heads I got from Vik, that also include different anti-gas measures), I have decided to take a small platoon that has such that make them all look more fat headed, and criminal looking, I have decided that Viks' gift would best help improve the look of the Tyarvetzian platoon.

The entire platoon from Tyarvetzya, Just one of the members of the Konfederation that contributes via troops.(Before new heads)

Thanks Neil, The great coats came with a selection of heads. But Vik sent me just enough for a smallish platoon like this one. Happened to work out just that way

Now for more 2nd sqd!

That shot you can see that the Sarge has a very different issue rifle from the rest of the team.

cool force! now i see it was worth it^^ one day i need me to get me some great coats bodies.... i like them, but the gunarms and the weapons (which i already own are not really my style for 40k...high detailed i grant you that but also quite flimsy...i use them mostly for conversions and chopp them up....their mags look quite nice on cadian weapons^^

the heads and also the whole command platoon looks the best! are they heading for primer or will more tankwork keep you from working with them?^^

cheers, i like the way those Tyarvetzya`s are heading (hurhurhur)

Thanks Vik! They will get a base priming soon, weather permitting.

Yeah, they all worked out okay, and the medics mask seems to fit, he also got the smaller pistol.

The Lieutenant got the more practical pistol and the one unique mask set of the bunch.

But in those hands it is a definite big pistol! The Lt can use it for enemies and recalcitrant soldiers alike!

Those are looking great! Nice to see something totally different for Guardsmen bodies. I can't really pick out the details on the heads though until they get some kind of primer on them (light glare on metal) But if you got them from Vik I'm sure they have nice rivets all over them

@Vik: Yep, never know who will get where due to that sort of method!

@dsteingass: Thanks! once the primer is set, the flash will cease that glare issue!

Great. ANOTHER thread to subscribe to. I enjoy "alternate" Guard projects so very much. I have a few of those miniatures in my Cult army. Where did you get the gas mask heads? I'm going to read back through the thread again in case I missed it, but a link would be awesome.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

I really want to try using some of the 28mm Victrix Napoleonics for Guard conversions.
But of course, all the cool miniatures are only made in the friggin UK, can't just go to my FLGS and pick some up. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to see what I'm buying before paying.
Vik- These Highlanders would be easy Steampunk Conversions for you! http://www.victrixlimited.com/online_shop/product_info.php?cPath=32_33&products_id=55&osCsid=fb5a9d3db184bbfa79c2c4f397c0db7aEven molded with kilts!

Sweet Shaslo. Theres something magical about a huge built but unpainted force. Like i imagine some factory on a forgeworld pumping out tanks. I never had that with my army. I did one guy at a time. Im slightly more insane now lol.

Vik sent the heads to me so I could make the platoon more interesting!

Yes, IG are supposed to have a wide range of uniforms and kit, not all of the regiments are complettley the same looking.

Well, my Khadrovian Fluff Thread ahs the explanation for so many different styles of uniforms as it is a Konfederacy of 20 worlds, each contributing in their own ways!

i got those heads dead cheap of ebay and i couldn´t find a good use for my own needs so i sent them over the big lake to shaso^^

but dont ask me where they are from...lost memory^^

and yep dsetin... always thought about using the victrix stuff for my army...for reference look to neil 101´s thread, he used the french soldiers of their range and he states they are a tad more realistic than heroic scale and you probably know what that means... but a whole squad would work i think...

I have already bought and collected more miniatures than I think I can ever paint as it is, yet there is so much more out there!

The tank camo is quite different from the soldierly uniform camo.

Your tanks are so sick! I love the European WWI look to them (and the irony of a WWI tank being used to fight battles that use WWI tactics in the grim darkness of the far future isn't lost on me). What stats do you run them with? If that's WYSIWYG then man you've pushing some firepower across the table.

Man I hate 5th Ed. In 2nd you could actually make a datafax for that vehicle.

Thanks Skalk! Yeah, much of the game is actually WW-I and the second world war, go figure as the GW is based in England, and that those were their best times as it were. Oh I use Chapter Approved 2004 Vehicle Design Rules(V.D.R.) to make them and yes, those beasts are WYSIWYG. with 14/134/12 armor

I've always loved IG in trench coats. I'm sad that GW has never felt the need to make them in plastic, I think they're missing out on a great seller personally. I really like what you're doing here, it captures the rough, campaign veterans look I always picture for IG in trenchcoats.

Thank you, I have more great coats from the same source with two other heads/masks on to paint up as well.
