Very nice! Are the fires actually lit or is that just paint?

definatly do that... would love to see the glow of the fire and the clouds of smoke better...from what i see i am very interrested!

Thanks! The fires are actually lit and they flicker. Its pretty cool IMO haha. Cant take credit for it though as I got the idea from a thread here on Dakka.

I will get some better pics up this evening when I get home.

Looks pretty sweet. If there is flickering, then that might warrant a video. You should put a model on it so we can get some idea of scale.

The fires look really awesome. I might have to steal that idea.

I'd love to see higher res pics, as well as video, if you can manage. I have to ask, though, are the craters unattached so that they can be used as terrain or removed to increase army space? If not, I agree with fire4effekt - some quick filler work and paint touchup to blend the edges into the board would really up the "finished" factor.

I left them unattached so i could use them as vehicle destroyed markers and so i can use more of the board when required.

I dont know how to do the video upload......if there is a tutorial or something I could use, I will be more than willing to upload one.

I don't think you can upload videos on Dakka. Just upload it to youtube (onsite instructions) and embed it here.

Glad to hear that!

Its actually really easy:

You will need:

1 can Black Primer
1 can Grey Primer
1 package poly fill (I got it a local craft store)
Battery Powered Tea Lights

Grab a handful of polyfill and shape it the way you want. Spray lightly with grey primer at the lower extrematies of the cloud. Working your way up apply more primer to your liking. Let Dry. Repeat with Black. Let Dry. Shove Tea Light in new smoke cloud. Done.

I love the effect it gives off with the models by its side. Along it looks cool but with the models the feeling of the Grim dark far future comes to life along with war.
