I just wanted to do this for my Seraphim Legion successor chapter of the Blood Angels. This is going to be my Librarian Dreadnought.

Most of it is much better. Except the ones that aren't. I'm a speed painter. I've won three Golden Demons, but it's pretty rare that I paint to that standard. My goal is to teach people the tricks that let them put very well painted armies on the table in reasonable time.

Looks really cool. Any reason why it's named St. Michael? St. George is the prototypical dragonslayer IIRC.

St. Michael has also been portrayed as conquering Satan, who is often portrayed as a dragon in icons.
"Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him."

The Contemptor went together really easily, once you figure out what's what. It just comes in a million little pieces, just like the FW titans, and you get to figure out what piece is a hand and what's a foot etc... That actually works out well for me, because it lets me pose it much more easily.

I really like the pose of the "dragon" he's slaying. Good work capturing the realism in poses and translating that to the models - something that's actually pretty difficult to do.

Blood would take away the divine, romantic theme of the artwork. Do you see the heroes in Renaissance paintings splattered in blood?
This is just amazing! Great conversion, silhouette, painting and theme!
