The new Necrons are great. I love the new background, the power structures in the dynasties, and of course the models. My army wil be based on Anrakyr the Traveler and his crusade to safeguard awakening Tomb Worlds. I plan to use the new Finecast Overlord, unless a character model comes out before Im done. I am including a Royal Court with 3 Lords to lead 2 large units of warriors and a unit of Immortals. A Crypteck will lead a second, smaller, unit of Immortals. This will represent Anrakyr giving the Crypteck a unit to help him achieve his goals on the battlefield. Im going to include all the vehicles I can because they all rock. A unit of Praetorians and Destroyers are also coming.

Colors are the simple metals. However, the higher ranking Necrons and vehicles will have a sandstone type ceramic. I just think it looks cool. The subdued blue is the power source. Eyes will have a unique color that will be on Anrakyr as his royal mark. Kind of showing he is in control of all the Necrons. The Praetorians will have a slightly different scheme since they are a stand alone entity. Haven't decided on the Destroyers.

I really like it, it has a real desert-like feel to it. I imagine a horde of Necrons and Necron vehicles rolling over sand dunes to smite their enemies... keep it up.

Nice neat painting and great colour scheme. I also admire your patience putting together warriors. I've managed one so far this weekend and that had glue all over the chest plate.

@peebzguy: Thanks, thats the look Im going for.

@Flashman: Thank you too, and if you think the warriors are a beating wait till you build some Lychguard or Praetorians.

Thanks Zid and runmymouth.

I have some WIP pics. The Lychguard look really cool but the construction is a beat down. The had snapped off one while I based him. This is how I get the ceramic. Deneb Stone, Kommando Khaki, dry brush Bleached bone. Some extreme highlights and Badab Black outlining still needs to be done, but its a start. I also began work on the Crypteck. Very disappointed with the Finecast. The other Finecasts I have done were excellent and well cast. This guy is brittle and flaky. Oh well, maybe I was due a bust.

Finished 4 of the Lychguard. I think the blue is a good contrast but I may have used too much ceramic on these guys. Overall, they may stand out well in the army since the Warriors and Immortals will be mostly metal. Anyway here they are....

You know what mate, hate to say this but have you considered painting the warrior's guns in the denub stone color you are using? I think they would look fantastic that way...

@Nightfall: Thanks, I appreciate it!

@runmymouth: I had considered using ceramic weapons for the Warriors and Immortals. Here's the thing. I want that color reserved for special units to help them stand out and vehicles. I figure 5 Lychguard, couple HQ and court guys, 6ish Destroyers who will have that treatment. Ill have 40-60 Warriors and 15 Immortals with the dull gray weapons. The vast majority of the army will have the dull, lowly colors befitting the lower rungs of Necron society. But who knows, I may change my mind. Your Necrons look great by the way.

I really wish I had seen your vehicles before I started my vehicles. Not going to change now but I really like the vehicles in those colors. You did give me an idea by thinking environment driven paint jobs to try to put some ice blue on mine. You might consider adding another color to special guys because the weapons in that color are awesome, especially annihilation barge.

Alright, I have the Doomsday Barge all built and ready to go. The hell of it is, the spray base coat came out a little grainy. Im going to have to clean it up a little, but should be able to start tomorrow. Also I got 10 Immortals and a Monolith today. Lots of xenos goodness to come.....

@runmymouth: Yeah, you are right. I thought painting the model in thirds would make it easier but the beating cannot be avoided.

@Commander Cain: Thank you sir.

@Asphalt: I think you are right. I gave them a light drybrush of chainmail. Wont be doing that on the rest.

Looking incredible so far! The simplistic color scheme honestly looks better than a lot of the more colorful schemes I've seen out there. Definitely got me sub'd.

I finished 2 of the Doomsday Barge pieces. This thing is going to look pretty cool. Thing is, I think it will need a second flying base, it looks a little shaky.

Nice simple and thankfully thats the best way to paint those necrons (IMO), stone looks good, blue looks good, and Im jealous of the time you have to work on all those models.

For the doomsday I would definatly figur on adding some stability to the base but be sure your supports are strong for storage, this model looks like a prime example of those little posts staping in the case.

Anyway Im glad Im now suscrbed.

Actually when you get the doomsday cannon glued to to the top section it is a lot more stable than the Ghost Arks. Looking great mate. I opted to take off two of the reach around arm things on the top section as they snapped off when trying to assemble and I just couldn't get them on there. I have extras from my ghost arks and I might try again but just be careful when you go for your final assembly.

Nice work. Everything looks great so far. I am looking forward to shots of everything together. I may be doing some necrons soon and I was wondering how much time you have put in on these so far? Might give me an idea how much time to set aside.

A well thought out closing remark.

@1-I: Thanks, glad you like them. And you are right, most of the Necrons look like they would break they even blew over.

@runmymouth: Will do and thanks for the advice.

@Asphalt: Thanks and your Necrons are looking great. Love all the conversions.

@Lord Dreden: Well, they dont take as long as you would think . Each of the colors are actually only 3 paints. I say a couple hours 3 times a week will keep you on track. Thats what I get. I also assemble models as paint drys, if that is any help.

Alright, Doomsday Barge is all done. Well mostly done. I still need to figure a way to use the bases. This guy is too unbalanced for one. Overall Im pretty pleased with how it came out. So, on to some Deathmarks.
