only 2 models in here are in any way "special". Why would you enter with models that you just threw on a base with nothing done to it?

It's metal, it's from the original Saint Celestine model. It's just been discolored from stripping off the original paint job and leaving it in the superclean a bit too long. The helmet's plastic though

Please refrain from negativity in this thread. The entrants in the painting competition were automatically entered into the modelling one as well, it depends where you put the emphasis.
I may be just feeding a troll, but I have worked hard on this and am not in any mood to take this meager criticism.

You may not notice at first glance, but the majority of these entries have quite a bit of conversion effort put into them. I can pick out waay more than just two that have had extensive cutting, kitbashing, and greenstuffing done to them. Way more effort than just "throwing onto a base".

You saw one you liked and it took your vote. No need to demean the other participants by dismissing their time and effort, however little you may think it to be.

i saw 2 maybie 3 who didnt convert! and besides it IS a painting competition mostly so its ok if they didnt touch it

I saw it as a painting AND modelling competition. I mean, there are two voting threads for it, right? Some entrants focused on one side of it, and some on the other. Just a matter of preference, I'd say.

I apologize for being rather brash. I didn't know that the entries for both competitions were the same, and thus some models didn't compete really for conversions.

IMO the assault cannon marine takes the cake in both categories. Sorry for being a douche.

Guys, that migtht be too much to ask for but could you please explain your criterias of evaluation in general and why you find the Saint so good in particular? I'm not going to argue anyone's viewpoint here, I'm just curious.

i personaly picked it in the fact that out of these, (IMO) it is the most out there in creative-ness, he turned all these models into this one model that has never been seen before compared to the rest which have little to no conversion work, or i have seen already

I voted for Ishkatar, I like the saint, but because I love power armor....

I voted for the Saint...but it was very close between her and Gunter

RW your point taken, seems we judge much the same but I'm more concerned by the technical dificulty and overal complexity of a mini here as both ideas seemed to be floating on the surface for quite a time. I mean that Harbinger of Menoth is as obvious a living saint as there could be, as well as rotating machinegun is an obvious partner for SM . If I would give my vote based only on originality of concept I would vote for the Segway Rough Rider But, as I've said, the ammount, complexity and quality of hand made elements is what sales the conversion for me. From this point I see no equal to Gunther, the BR logo on his shoulder alone is something to awe, not to mention all other neat details.

what pains me the most here is that i have befriended with lots of peeps during that competition and now i am rather stuck between too many chairs... horrible feeling...
