So my friend and I decided to play a game of storm of magic, using my warriors of chaos and his skaven. It was actually 4k with 1000 points of pacts and monsters.

Well we deployed and all, and set up terrain and arcane fulcrums. I went first.

Turn 1 - chaos
My two charges failed, so I went straight to magic. Not much happened, killed his abomination, made a wizard stupid. On to the shooting phase. Hellcannon number one targets his doomwheel and misfires. It rolls a 3 and....

All his wizards except an engineer and the plague priest that was on the furnace (and can't leave it) DIED. Yup. A 3 means all wizards suffer a miscast. Thanks to the infernal puppet, all of his wizards either got killed or lost enough wizard levels to no longer be wizards. As I said the plague priest can't leave the furnace to take a fulcrum, and he had one engineer with one wound.

Second hellcannon fires, targeting his doomwheel. The shot hits,wounding but not destroying the doomwheel. However, it did make the doomwheel go out of control and smash itself on the arcane fulcrum an inch away. Its destruction forces a panic test in the slaves behind it, and they roll an 11, failing despite their general being nearby. Since his big unit of 50 slaves was only inches from the board edge, they fled right off, taking his wounded engineer with them.


So that was it. With one wounded wizard locked on his plague furnace, the game was over instantly. He could have fought for a tie, but with no magic to counter me and losing two key units...it was over.


I heard storm of magic games take a while....I guess not!!

One of the guys at my FLGS had a similar game. Caused enough casualties to break an opponents squad turn one, which cause panic checks in other nearby squads. Pretty much everything ran off the board on turn one.

Wow, he would be wondering what the hell just happend.

My very first game of warhammer was like that. He got a pit of shades off on one of my men-at-arms, and a string of absurd rolls later they ran off the table and took two units of archers with them. My lord charged some shades and got killed outright. It was only a 750 pt game so it was a Turn 1 loss lol.

I suggest you paint that hellcannon up real nice.

Haha I was expecting a silly slaan thing where it ended up being a horde of saurus vs a silly unit of something but this this is much better.

My 3k game took over 5 hours because I had to kill a unit of sword master 3 times I think was super annoying but was a blast over all.

Why 3 times to kill the SM's?

My guess is every time it'd be down to a few models they got revived.
