I have received 3 Tallarn Mukaali rough rider cavalry units by mistake with my Dkok rough rider squadron, They said "keep them". I said "ok"
But how do I use them in an army, Include 2 more to make a whole unit and add them like an auxiliary levy?
Or add them to my Dkok cavalry to make a squad of 8 but with three looking really out of place?
I currently have an Imperial guard and a heretic army under way(see below)
Any advice?,Thank you for any help.

first sentinel is done being modified and primed.
[/img]

The next will be a lascannon or auto cannon series.
When finished, The unit should work as 3 scout sentinels with the following items included wysiwyg;
3x smoke launchers
3x hellstrikes
1x heavy flamer
1x autocannon
1x lascannon
Should I add camo netting option?

I'd modify them to carry heavy weapons & make them a heavy weapons squad for your heretic guard army.

Personally i wouldn't spend money to make them into a useful unit, or add them to an existing unit, given you're already spending serious money on a DKoK army.

Presuming you don't know any tallarn players, perhaps just use them as part of dead steed terrain? Animal corpses were a common sight in trench warfare.

They do look cool though, and the beasts themselves don't look too non-DKoK - Red_Starrise's idea isn't a bad one, if you're up for a bit of conversion work.

Thanks for that,

Using them as battle field detritus is a great idea but im not sure I can bring myself to cut up brand new pieces like this for decor alone.

I couldnt find the base size on the FW site, but it looks the same as a Heavy weapons team,If so, that would be a simple and effective solution;3 of them, fits the fluff, and they could be beasts of burden with auto cannons sticking out like sniper rifles,I like that...
Then the question is would most people accept them as HWT in a tourney?

I would as it would give you far more problems with LOS tan me. Sentinels might be a good match failing that some daemony thing for the renegades.

Uh........Sentinels.......

They use the same size of base and are essentially the same height. All you need to do is to give them a weapon (or just say that those hunting lances are javelins and count them as missile launchers). I doubt that it would be much work to convert a flamer for each of them, plus a load of baggage etc.

God I'm so jealous of you right now. Such lovely minis. ^^

@ Llamahead Im sure you know more about it than I do,I dont get how it causes a line of site issue(wouldnt sentinels have same problem?)

@Wyrmalla ,I know I was lucky. Thats 2 for sentinels, and still fits the fluff. which is a visually striking idea,It would need some armor plating though yeah? (not that I mind, that sounds fun)

@SlaveToDorkness they would be in good hands, great looking stuff!

I see them going better with your heretic army than DKoK, a Chaos bio-sentinel would be cool.

If not why not list them in the Dakka Swap Shop or put them on eBay?

3rd vote for Sentinels. You could convert a weapons platform quite easily, and they would be some of the most unique Sentinels I'd ever seen.

go for sentinels.. definetly.. add a lot of armour and battledamaged plates on the sides and heads.. but i would use them in your renegade army not the DKoK.. they look too heretic-like IMO pleas post a painted one once you're done i can't wait

Hadn't thought of sentinels, but that's quite a good idea, if you have the modelling skills to add heavy weapons mountings and new riders and saddles. Logically, the weapon mounting would be over the shoulders, with armoured DKoK troopers in saddles (possibly also armoured) behind.

In the real world, something similar was done with gatling guns on camels, believe it or not.

Line of Sight issue is the fact they are bigger than an upright man maybe as much as twice as tall as a Heavy Weapon Team it would work in your opponents favour however. The Sentinel is roughly the same size as the Mukaali so works better.

@Grass4hopper Yeah,it seems its a toss up between heretic and dkok sentinel, seems like it is easiest as heretic, then I dont have too much to do.

@Llamahead Thanks,I was thinking los the other way(duh),as far as that goes a sentinel is a much better idea.

@Clang Sentinels with saddles, so you think it would still look good as dkok?,its true that they dont have a dkok sentinel, that might be a pretty original idea...
Gatlings mounted on Camels? Camels already have bad attitudes, can you imagine being the poor sucker stuck bouncing on a loud stinky camel with a loud stinky gatling gun? I love how the real world scenario is most like a cartoon.

@Joske De Veteraan yes, armor plates are a must,Ill have to look through my bits.

Its decided that they will be sentinels,I will have to let the bits decide heretic or Dk but that makes it likely to be heretic
I looked up the camel gun design and it works like I think would look good for either faction.heres some pics:

Dude yes that is a cannon on his back!

pics of the models themselves will follow.

Yup, Dr Richard Gatling's 1874 'camel gun' was used by the Afghan Camel Corps until at least 1877, so one must assume the camels didn't object too much. The same gun was also mounted on elephants

Re modelling something similar, I suspect the biggest issue will be the gunner/rider - you'll need a figure who can be posed on a new saddle on top of the existing back stowage. If that's not possible in DKoK-compatible figures, then perhaps doing it for your heretic army would be easier, as you'd have a bigger range to pick from.

As already stated there are lots of options. Just use your imagination. First thoughts are: as heavy weapons platforms, sentinels, ogryns. Just do the necessary conversions and voila. Just be sure they are the only ones in use. If you choose ogryns, for example, just be sure you only have this one unit of ogryns.

Be sure to post up the finished product after you decide!

As Ogryns? thats kinda scary.
They are going to be sentinels with "handlers". A few pith helmet style guards?
I have a renegade 2man heavy stubber crew
and a dkok heavy flamer, also 2man crew. I will compare for best style and then proceed.

I am absolutely going to upload the wip and finished pics, and thanks all for your ideas.
