Trying something new. This guys is supposed to look like he has been buried for a while. The metal on him has a heavy patina. Supposed to look textured, too.

I could've like it on parts of the model, but covering the entire model is just way too much for my taste

I like the look, but I think in order to make it work the glowing parts (orb, gems, etc) need to be a contrasting color such as blue or purple.

I agreea contrast in the glow would make it stand out more.

Yeah, I see that. Problem is, the rest of my army has a green glow, so having a blue glow, or whatever, would completely untie this guy. Of course, he IS an overlord, so maybe different is okay...

I like the texture. It makes it look like there is some pitting and corrosion going on. How did you get that?

So happy to see someone else doing brass patina 'crons. It is one of my favorite effects.

I really like your wash color, but I feel like your technique is lacking, i.e. it isn't obvious it is supposed to be a patina. It is kind of all over the place. A patina wash should be treated like any other wash: focused on cracks, crevices, and recesses. Yours has a bit of a random feel, patana'd on some flat surfaces but not some crevices. I feel like a little more direction would be helpful.

Still, pretty great effect overall. What is your wash recipe?

Yeah, I didn't really know how a patina actually works, so my first pass at the model it was inverted and the patina was on top. I then had to add the metal back on. The plus side is I had many layers of paint, which added the texture.
I took sick green, ice blue, and scorpion green and blended them out in like a circle, so the scorpion and the blue mixed and then the blue and sick green, etc. I ended up with a spectum and swirls of different shades. I added a few drops of thinner and washed and dabbed from different areas. Then I did brown, then tin, then gold, on the metal. Then I took parasite brown and hit some random places.

I suggest some highlights and other colors added. Maybe more like a ceramic that doesn't varnish and still has a brilliant color. I would also suggest changing their secondary color (I.E. the orb and gauss bits) or a vastly different green or to another color. This color should compliment the ceramic color.

Adding a little alcohol to the wash can help too. It helps it really suck into cracks.

I've got to say you really have the color and texture down, they are just beautiful.

Interesting look, but imho you overdid it. The entire model seems to be the same color now

He almost seems to be oversatruated with the green, but it gives him a good feel, almost like he's corroded. I think you did well, good job.
