So I have a problem. Tonight I was at judo training for the Northern Ireland Closed Competition on the 25th of Feb. That also happens to be the day my local GW is having its 40k's 25th birthday party. It only happens once and I don't want to want till I am 40 to the 50th. My 15th birthday is actually the 28th.

The other side of the problem is that my weight. No, I am not obese. I have an absolute perfect BMI. I weight 67.5kg. To get into the under 66kg category I need to be 66 or lower though I might get away with 66.5. I can barely keep pace with the guys in the 66s so no chance will I compete in the under 71s. Problem is tyat I have no fat on me at all. I am pure muscle. Not Arnie Shwarz style, but strong and lean. I have to lose 1.5kg in about 2 weeks or so. If I don't cut it then part 1 has no significance.

Lose Water weight. While this will most likely come right back at least you would be under for that day.
Or one of my fitness friends once drank veggie and fruit smoothies(homemade) for 10 days and nothing but smothies, he cut a bunch of weight but once again came right back once he started eating again

Drink nothing but water, and then do some sauna-ing 1-2 days before the weigh in. Water-only as far as fluids are concerned will help you tranfer weight from your body into water weight, which can easily be sweated out.

Or another option, though I am not sure it is appropriate for someone your age, would be to bulk up and give yourself increased physical capabilities, which would help you to keep up with the 71s. If you still couldn't keep up with them after getting more muscle mass tossed on, then you probably wouldn't win anyways

Also, it might be easier to give advice if we knew your height, because that makes your weight actually mean something.

Either way, you're probably best off going to the GW thing, as there will be cake and probably a surprise of some sort.

I am about 5ft 8-10".

I don't want to try the sauna idea tbh. My friend did that for an international comp and got flattened. By someone half his height and less musclar. I was strongly advised not to by my coach. Plus I don't have a sauna .

I will consider the bulking up but I doubt I will be able to die to the timeframe.

twenty-ish days is more than enough, but the strenuous exercise involved would make sure you STAY 5'8-10. Weightlifting doesn't stunt your growth as much as most people think, but it's the kind of exercising that would damage growth plates and anything even slightly out of proportion on a child's body.

Sorry to quote the same thing twice, but about the sauna, you have to do it right, and your friend obviously didn't.

Hey guys. So thanks for all who commented but turns out I didn't need help.

I got weighed on thursday before my session, and after a week of 40k and no exercise whatsoever I had lost exactly 1.5 kilos!!!

Does matter though because I have decided to go to the 25th Anniversary celebrations.

Oh, I don't want to lose weight no more as I have burned off what I need in a week with little exercise bar walking into GW. I was just letting the good folks here know my progress. Thank you for the tip though.

Because the side effect is dehydration. Listen to your coach. Focus on drilling your footwork, foot sweeps and throws. Randori with people in the weight class you expect to be in. It's better to be at 100% in the weight class you're supposed to be in than anything less.

This should probably be in off topic as it's not really 40k.

Good to see some judo terminology! Iput it in 40k because I need to decide between the 40k celebrations this saturday or the competition first. Obly then would weight loss come into it.

I did Jujitsu, Judo and a little Brazilian jujitsu. I was often put against short fat teens, as I was over 6 feet at that time, that was not easy to work with. As I'm even taller and heavier now (rather let myself go :/) it would be nightmarish.
