1 squad and devilfish done , many more battlesuits, kroot, pathfinders etc. to go, haha
I started my space wolf army a while back and as you can see, I love shadow grey dry brushed with space wolf grey to perfection. I'm no where near professional at painting but i do enjoy making my army table ready. The Devilfish was painted over, but i think it came out very well.
I'm not finished yet but the fluff goes something like this: This is a long forgotten sept. on the dark cold reaches of the Tau empire. It would seem as though the Empire has lost its' watchful hand over this army to the ravenous nature of their frostbitten home world.
Tell me what you think and also check out my space wolves I'm looking to trade.
Thanks,

I like the color scheme your working with here, the arctic theme is nice to see next to the 1001 jungle themed tau iv seen floating around.

The speckling on the troops makes them look a little messy, i might prefer just flat colors with highlights there, maybe a third color for the gun or helmet. On vehicles and drones and probably suits though the speckling is rad awesome, and the palette overall is really unique.

You dont think the speckling adds to the overall motif for the army? Sort of like camo or even mud painted to the boots.

I agree on the speckling of the troops make them look a little messy, but it might be one of hose things were it looks better in person. The devil fish looks really good though, kinda like it has a disruption pod effect going on. But I have one question why are the engines on upside down? IV seen that on alot of tau vehicles lately.

The speckles are like the alaitoc craftworld stippling effect, you don't do it on a farseer's forehead. It looks great on vehicles and broad surfaces but it kinda blurs the hard lines and edges of the tau techno stuff, i think just that shade of blue with white is already a unifying theme or maybe just speckle the big broad shoulder guards and not the armor or gun.

Oh I see your point.
I like the idea of speckling only certain parts (gun and shoulder guards)

The engines are not glued , just stuck them on for the pick.
As for the others, I think this is a color scheme that looks much cleaner in person.
Thanks for the suggestions, ill try some new schemes.
They're supposed to look as though they are in a snowy camo, rough and beaten as though they've been stuck on they icy world for far too long.

Actually, I kinda like the blue/white effects. I was always under the impression that Tau Paint schemes were rather Elemental based, and what you've shown here, at risk of disagreeing with Billy, fits well. They seem Oceanic.
