Anyone got any ideas or pictures?

I mean it has to be tiring and annoying to hold a sword all day..

Space Marines Please.

Just wondering, if the power armor is powered for movement, cant they just leave it in a neutral position grasping the sword? ( I meant, imagine a fork lift holding something up, and someone turned the power off )

Well what about for diplomatic meetings or something where having your arm at a 45 degree angle would not be appropriate.

I mean I would feel more comfortable having my sword holstered rather sitting next to me and having that chance when someone can grab it.

I always thought that the Space Marines were magnetized, so they could just slap it on their hip or thigh and walk away.

I has a blog

Magnetic belts. That's the way I'd roll if I was an Astartes. Notice there's never any sort of grenade bandoiliers, straps, etc....I'm (after agreeing with Tread) tellin' ya it's gotta be magnets!!

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!

Not every shadow, but any shadow

I reckon there aren't to many places you can go with a scabbard, I mean they are pretty much confined to the shape of the sword.

i'd be looking at pictures of medieval swords and then either moulding some GS around a well oiled sword (so you can pull it out later) or just cut the blade off a spare sword then round it off a bit.

You can then decorate the scabbard up a bit with maybe some chapter symbols or something sucky about how great the Emperor is

Like the guys say tho' not need for a belt just magnets.

Found this via google... This is where I got the idea of Space Marines and diplomatic meetings...

I mean they are bad ass but there is always still a need for diplomacy, sometimes.

I'd say for a PowerSword you could just slap some green stuff around the existing blade then mold, sand, and ornament your new sheath to your liking. No sheaths for chainswords.

Well we have this
But in all honesty i doupt they need it, they are smart and skilled enough no to hit there allies and the weight would be nothing to them(cept relic blades maaybe) And in battle they dont want to be cause unarmed.

My Wolf Guard in the front has his power sword in a sheath. I got it from a Chaos Warriors sprue from WHFB ages ago. I don't even know if they make them anymore...

Is it bragging to say I bought one for $2 plus $1 shipping a couple months ago?

Forgive me for bringing up the movie, but now I have the "Jedi Negotiation Tactics" scene from Episode 1 in my head.

There are plenty of scabbards on WHFB models, most would look ok in 40K, especially with a purity seal or similar detail added. Maybe some electric looking bits too, to shut up any 'how is that a _power_ sword' WYSIWYG whiners

The problem with scabbards for 40k swords is that the swords themselves are so damn huge. Marine swords in particular. Another simple way is to use plasticard and trim out a sword-shape of the right size/shape. Just make it blunter than a sword and you're golden.
